Mynav Screen- Can I Turn It Off? - Solved
Sixchannel replied to Sixchannel's topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
AFAYK does that still allow traffic reports through? -
Just completed first 1000 miles in 2010 C5 Tourer without a problem. Today we took car out, got one mile down the road, the car gave a little "ding, ding, ding" from somewhere to tell me that the Battery symbol was lit on the dash. Everything seemed to be working though. Pulled over and turned engine off. Nothing to see under bonnet, but then again I woudnt know what to look for. Restarted car, battery light went out as normal and stayed out for immediate return to base. Is this a known issue and is there a problem developing please? Sixchannel

Did you know you can pick up the latest MYNAV 2014 SD card for £30 on eBay. I just bought a 2010 C5 VTR+NAV 160 Tourer and have used the new card to replace the original 2009 SD card. So far it works fine. I can't comment on your actual problem - just thought you should know. Sixchannel

Mynav Screen- Can I Turn It Off? - Solved

Thanks John. -
You betcha, John. Coming down from West Mids to Somerset I was horrified at some of the mpg figures I was seeing when climbing eg Clevedon Hill, just after Bristol on the M5!! Teens figures often!!!! Looks better on the flat (of course) but I'm guessing that overall its not going to be anything like a economical as my old Xantia HDi 90 and she would tow our Bailey Pageant Champagne nicely at 60 and deliver good mpg. So I assume that 2000rpm is the Max torque point(ish).

Hi I have recently bought a 2010 C5 VTR+NAV16O with manual box. When I accelerate through the gears, each time I get to c2000rpm, the space underneath the oil temp throws up a number. If I'm in 2nd, then its a 3, etc etc. Its as if it's "inviting" me to change up. Is that because I've reached the point of Max torque (or summat else?)or is it simply Citroen not knowing what to do with that empty space on a Manual car - I.e. information overload ;-) Cheers Ian

I think Stages are now called Stopovers. Not sure how it works but in the next week / 10 days I hope to have sussed out more. Thanks for all the help. After my beloved Xantias there is so much technology on these mk3 C5s. Cheers Sixchannel

OK - I'm starting to get to grips with this MyNav. A few bits of terminology have me baffled and can find no expanded explanantion of what they mean - Route Options - What does the "Optimised" one do? Route Dynamics - what is the difference between Traffic Independent and Semi-dynamic? I'm hoping that the latter takes account of problems ahead and recalcs the route - and hopefully telling me WHY its doing it. We're off on hols tomorrow so will use it then. We KNOW how to get there and it will be interesting to see what happens with the Route Guidance working and me taking the "alternative" way from time to time. Wish me luck. lol! cheers sixchannel

Mynav-How Do I Delete Satnav Journeys?
Sixchannel replied to Sixchannel's topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
Hi Paul Cant see anything like that on the MyNav on the 2010 C5. I'm just getting to grips with setting destinations and for now using the Address seems to be best for me. What MyNav can't seem to do is to allow me to plot a Route. I.e. - I want to go to the Motorway en route to the destination but I KNOW that the best way to it is a certain specific way. Cant seem to tell mynav that. Should I just tell it the Destination, let it calculate the route and when I go off "its" route just ignore it until I hit the Motorway. Or will it constantly recalc where I am and tell me what I should be doing? -

This is the ebay ref - 331285888103 or this may work too - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331285888103?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I can find no way to change the voice but then again I couldnt with the original chip - 2009/10. If I press the "Setup" button there is no option and in "Nav" I cant see where to find it either - and I THINK I've tried every bit of it. Any ideas? GPS? - it certainly allows Latitude and Longitude (not that I'd have a clue how to use it) Here's a photo - http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg77/Sixchannel/mynav1_zps09ab6abf.jpg -
Mynav-How Do I Delete Satnav Journeys?
Sixchannel replied to Sixchannel's topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
UPDATE - it arived today. It has the Navteq logo on the SD card, is marked 2014v1 and as far as I can tell works fine. I just imputted an address into MyNav and it asked for City, then Street and even the Post Code (which is limited to 5 characters but I can live with that) and saved it Ok into Address Book. Looks like the other functions , like map co-ords are OK too. Anything else I should try? cheers sixchannel -

I've emailed one of the £30 sellers this morning and he's confirmed that they are not the genuine article. That's not to say they won't work correctly. He boasts of all the data it contains and if it doesn't, or if it doesn't work correctly then he's getting it back! -

Maybe thats why the previous owner had them turned off. Couldnt they be changed to superbright LEDs or is that a dumb idea? cheers sixchannel -

The one in my 2010 is the original 2009-2010 card - never been updated. Looks like Citroen want Eu149 for latest SD card to update my MyNav so I can imagine why it wasn't!! However, they are for sale on ebay with latest mapping for £30. cheers sixchannel -
Towing With 2010 C5 Tourer Vtr+Nav-Any Tips?
Sixchannel replied to Sixchannel's topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
Hi Interesting comment re loading the car. I've always thought that I should put heavier items in the back of the car so that the car was heavier and therefore the caravan would be lighter, thereby improving the car/caravan ratio. Is that thinking not right? -
Towing With 2010 C5 Tourer Vtr+Nav-Any Tips?
Sixchannel replied to Sixchannel's topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
Thanks for the info AND the link! Pity you can't DL it from there. Looks like you can "save" only the page/s you are looking at. The Dealer was a Mitsubishi one, not Citroen, so perhaps can be forgiven for not knowing. I shall keep that link as a "fave". The noseweight on the caravan comes out about 80kg and both my Xantias have towed sweetly at this. The diesel, which was only the 2.0HDi 90bhp towed this mass superbly, if a bit out of puff at the top of a long hill. Lets hope Ethel is just as good. Can you see a downside to this slight increase in Nosweight? cheers sixchannel -
This model has the "spring" suspension. Since 1993 I have loved the hyraulic sus on my two Xantias as it was self levelling. Does the C5 need any suspension asistance (add springs etc?) or is the ride height at the back not particularly affected please. The caravan, single axle Bailey Champagne, has an all loaded "Weighbridge" weight of c1350kg. cheers sixchannel

What Does This Button Do, Mister?
Sixchannel replied to Sixchannel's topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
Thanks Seefive. OK. I havent driven it yet with the lights on - too light still in the evenings. Apart from knowing that the lights worked when I bought it, I havent switched them on for driving. Blimey! That must look weird! I guess then that a further press on it puts them all back on again. Does it knock out the Nav screen as well, I wonder. Thanks for the explanantion. cheers ian -
Another dumb question - on the left hand part of the fixed steering wheel boss, to the immediate right of the "Set" for Limit or Cruise, there is an icon that is a circle half filled in white and half black. What is it, and what does it do? I THINK its something to do with the dash lighting but I have already found the rheostat buttons for brighter / dimmer. So how does it work please? cheers sixchannel
