  1. Also got some off ebay, about 13 quid including postage, seem ok so far, typical pattern parts though, not quite the same snug fit as the genuine ones and sit slightly higher on the screen, but hell, at nearly 30 quid cheaper I can live with that.
  2. I agree. Did 200 motorway miles today and I only saw the first line on the gauge light up briefly when I put my foot down on the way home this evening. Radiator is still cold at the bottom and heater only really gets hot after 50 or so miles, and even then it's not what it was. Booked in on 10th for this and hopefully the ESG recall if they can get the parts.
  3. New rear offside wing and rear suspension, nothing forward of the doors.
  4. All, My temp gauge has stopped working. Well nearly. Just donw around 300 motorway miles and on the return journey the temp gauge went off, then occasionally we saw the bottom bar light up. No problems getting home, and there's plenty of coolant in the header tank - top of the radiator is hot, but bottom is only luke warm to touch. In car heater works - but doesn't seem that hot when I put it on max. Any idea what could cause this? Water pump? Engine didn't smell like it was overheating, although since I got it back from it's repair I've noticed a slight burning smell from the rear of the car - I'd assumed this was overspray on the exhaust or something similar - but maybe not. Anything I can test to prove or disprove? Citroen c4 vtr+ Coupe Thanks
  5. Hmm yellow tray? Mines black... oh well Got the tracking sorted, front and rear were both out, didn't realise the rear was adjustable.
  6. After nearly 3 months I've finally got my VTR+ back after white van man ignored a give way and rammed the side of me. Having had a good check round I've realised I can't remember how the tools sit in the spare wheel. The repairers have put them in and there's a strap that fixes to either side of the spare wheel well that tightens the tool container down - I think that's right but should the tool container haave a lid or does it rely on the boot carpet? Steering wheel alignment is out as well, which could be quite serious as the only damage was to the rear end and they've supposedly renewed all the rear suspension - off to get the tracking checked independantly in a couple of hours....
  7. I got the recorded delivery letter this morning about this recall. However, and this is a comment on Citroens spare parts availability.... White van man rammed the side of my car at the end of November (he ignored a give way) and the insurers *still* have my car waiting for parts, they've pretty much had to wait for every part in turn to come in on special order. So 2 months on I'm still driving around in a replacement Passat (which I've put 5k miles on!), I want my C4 back! So, if there's a recall of 37500 cars which all use this part I reckon it'll be a long while before they get it all sorted, else they'll be using bathroom sealer :-) '56 C4 VTR+ Coupe with the body kit - maybe that's the problem. Pleased with the way Citroen are handling the recall, they can fix my rear window heating element at the same time, if I get my car back before Summer!
  8. <looks grimly at right foot> I'm getting less than 300 miles to a tank of my *petrol* VTR+ I've stopped clicking the ful computer now - it's too depressing!
  9. That would be useful info if I had bought the diesel :-)
  10. Thanks for all the links, spoiler looks ok in the black, but not sure how the black would look on the silver I have, will think about it a bit more. Picked up the car this morning. note to self - never ever ever pick up a car on the first registration day, what a nightmare. I ended up abandoning my old car halfway up a kerb. Drove the C4 to work (about 20 miles) and am happy with it so far. It doesn't actually feel that much quicker than my 110 diesel Leon, but didn't really have chance to fully check this out. I need to read the manual as well to get my head round some of the controls. CD jumps like a ***oops*** compared to my old multichanger, but it was a CDR in there, so I'll try a decent one.
  11. Undecided on the spoiler, think i'll need to see one in the flesh before I decide, and the chances of seeing another VTR on the road appear slim, although I did actually see a C4 yesterday.... 3 days til pickup....
  12. Anybody got any pics of one with a rear spoiler? 130 doesn't sound too bad. Edit: Actually I found a pic - how do they fit to the car? Any drilling etc required?
  13. They had two in, both 56 reg, both VTR+, in fact identical miles, identical everything, except one had body kit and one didn't, same price. I went for the body kit, if only cos I might get a bit more on resale, the girlf thinks it looks a bit chav :-)
  14. Well, just handed over a deposit for a VTR+ from Citroen Birmingham. I think I got a good deal, 9695 for a 56 reg with 4.5k on the clock and full body kit. Pics at: http://www.toastyhamster.plus.com/IMG_1354.jpg http://www.toastyhamster.plus.com/IMG_1355.jpg http://www.toastyhamster.plus.com/IMG_1356.jpg Wasn't amazed by the service, the car wasn't even there when I turned up - despite making an appointment, still - the sales guy bent to my will, so I can't complain too much. Pick it up on Thursday. It's got a lot of toys compared to my Leon!
