Maybe the Toyota owners are trying to justify the higher price they paid for the same car by 'talking it up' in the surveys. It also shows that using this kind of survey to help in choosing a new car isn't really the thing to do. Personally I won't be buying another one, it is fine for what it is but I find it tiresome on longer trips. Probably go for something a little larger and more comfortable, maybe a Polo or Fiesta. We'll see in a years time.

Not much to do with this topic but .......... The Dutch word for parcel shelf is hooodaplank (probably not spelt like that) What a lovely word. Hopefully one of our Dutch friends will be along soon to correct my poor spelling.

Personally I use an independant MOT garage to service our C1. I buy the filter(s) from the local Toyota garage (cheaper and closer) and take them to the independant for fitting. The warranty is still valid, I have been back to the dealer twice in two years for a broken mirror adjuster and a window that wouldn't wind up straight - no problems either time and I don't expect there to be in the future. The warranty terms are there in black & white. If they p*ss me off, I wouldn't buy another car from them, it's not rocket science. You pays yer money and takes yer choice. The dealer cost for a C1 service far too much, we also have a 1 year old golf which I have just had serviced at the VW dealer and it was cheaper than the Citroen C1 service - amazing. I thought the VW would be far more. At the time of our 1st C1 service we owned an 02 Fiat Stilo, the same dealer offered to service that for £75. How can they charge £75 for an old 1.9 turbo diesel and £140 for a 1litre petrol ? baffles me.

From what you say it sounds as tho' the water is coming up through the floor in the area of the bung. especially as you aren't getting any water traces from anywhere else. Is the bung cracked, holed, damaged at all? You could take the bung out , blob a bit of silicon sealer around the hole and replace the bung. Leave to set. Water can get anywhere as it tracks along any ridge, weld or whatever. It will get thrown up by the wheels and the wind as you drive along will blow it up, down, in, out - anywhere really. Drive up on to a pair of ramps, get a pal to hose down the underneath while you sit in the car and watch for water ingress. I have had hours, nay days of fun trying to find leaks in Land Rovers products, but then the saying was 'the holes are for letting water out as much as letting it in' !

Thats real mean. Disconnecting and reconnecting may make matters worse as 'the system' could think there is a permanent issue with the airbags. I've had a quick look see on an Aygo forum, one instance of Airbag light flashing, he took it to the dealers who reset 'the system' and all ok from then on. It seems (from the Aygo forum) that the airbag light also indicates possible issues with seatbelt pretensioners. Also tried looking on 107 OC forum but you have to be a member to search - lost interest then. IMO a trip to the dealer and get it plugged in to the diagnosis machine (probably £50-£60), get it reset and see if it comes up again. You could also lean over the techies shoulder whilst he is doing the check and find out where all the bits and pieces are, or in other words, be nice to him!

Get straight off to the Dealer and tell them it started on Christmas eve and you haven't been able to get there till now. Make sure they agree to fix it under warranty before letting them loose on it first tho'. I hope this isn't the start of many C1 Airbag light issues, it seems to have affected many many cars over the years.

Finally got round to finding out what our mpg is. 53 mpg, she drives 2 miles to work, I drive 10 miles - on alternate days. Occasional longer trips at weekends.

Aygo looks loads better. Where do the stylists/designers get their ideas from. I remember a Ford designer saying the Austin Princess (competitor to the Sierra) was a great big flying turd. You still see a few sierras about but very very few Princesses. Also BL/Austin/Morris etc have gone but Ford is still with us. Ford must have got something right, personally I thought the sierra was pug ugly too.

Perhaps even more impressive is a 'vette getting over 30mpg. For those that can't be bothered to read the article, top honours went to a Yaris which managed 84.66 mpg.

If I remember rightly it is to be done in the first 1500 miles. So no problem. Read your service book for the definitive answer. Its a nothing service, there is no oil change like in the golden olden days. As TS says its just a check over, and replace anything thats fallen off. No service spanner on a C1, its a basic motor. No frills.

Same on an ipod.

You will need a 3.5mm to 3.5mm mini jack cable. There are loads on ebay for a couple of quid inc postage. A mobile phone shop should also stock these. This will connect the headphone socket (of an ipod or other mp3 player) to the identical socket on the C1. Chose a length of cable to suit wherever you want to place your mp3 player in the car.
