  1. Anyone know how to fit a sub to a hatchback, can't go under front seats, only place is the boot, so need a compact unit , looking at JBL BassPro. How do you wire it in to the stock headunit? Power direct from battery and earth locally near the sub? Where is the remote switch on to activate the sub? Do I use line out or speaker level inputs from the rear speakers? Sorry for so many questions but I don't want to damage anything as so many things go through the stereo, such as parking sensors, voice commands from sat nav etc
  2. Thanks guys for advice. Got leak fixed, it was the aircon pipe leaking, silly place to put a drain, in the footwell - lol Recall was for airbag - not replaced it though, don't know what they did, maybe software update, but all data was still the same on the trip computer, so maybe not, last experience with software update was that it zeroed everything except the total mileage and service indicator. Still have an issue with brake squeal when reversing, they will look at it when it goes in again for new glove box and headlamp fault - that turned out to be the rear sensor - it measures height to work out how loaded the car is, thus adjusting the headlamps automatically, clever eh? when it works. Always thought those bright headlamps look out of adjustment when coming towards you, they are very good tho especially on very dark country roads araound here, the auto steer lamps work very well. Girlfriend managed to get nicked for speeding 44 in a 40 (facists) even with all the mod cons like limiter it still cost us £60 and 3 points grrrrrrrrr
  3. Mmmmmmmmmm....... its not fair really to compare a diesel to a petrol car. The front end is far heavier on the diesel along with the other beefed up components. yes the Focus had a rep for good handling, still not sure why you would want to throw a diesel car around like you would the more nimbler competition. Maybe its just me but, we drive on rubbish country roads in Norfolk......... cos there is nothing else here ....... but thats another gripe for another day......and yes the C4 can get unsettled, but there again I would expect it too, however, there is a difference between slinging the car round bends and negotiating potholes and other country fare on the road, eg dirty tractors crapping all over the road, lorries dumping diesel, potholes, cracks, settlement, dead animals, loose gravel etc to worry about. I like to "make good progress on the road", we all do, so try not to pull the HDI C4 apart too much, eh?
  4. Hi all, i thought I saw a thread for water in the footwell being something to do with the AC drain leaking. Anybody got a wet drivers side carpet?? GOD I HATE water leaks in cars, they start to smell, steam up at the slightest cold weather. Surely in the 21st century they can build water tight cars, if they were building a ship, it would sink!!! Taking car to dealer wednesday with my list of things to do. Will keep you posted. PS yes we need the site to be split up into sections like the C3 forum!! are you listening moderator? Terry
  5. Hello there, first time on the site. My car is 2005 C4 2.0 HDI Exclusive (private reg C4 EXC cool eh?) It has all the extra's fitted except JBL sound and bluetooth (not compatible) I have a recall letter for the airbags, some folk are saying about a brake recall, my rear brakes squeal in reverse, is that the problem?, my C3 used to do aswell. What is the score with TMC in the UK, Navteq refer me to the dealer for TMC and map updates, maps already out of date. Auto headlamp adjustment fault brings up the service light, which clears then annoyingly comes back whilst driving !!! A few rattles and squeaks front and back. Air Con does not seem as cold as my old C3!! Is regassing included in the warranty? Glove box still very flimsy like my old C3 but not as bad. Driver aids are good though steerable headlamps a real plus on Norfolk's crappy country roads! Getting average MPG of 49 overall, driving style has changed due to instantaneous figure displayed all the time! Voice activated controls a cool idea when it can understand my northern accent! Inbuilt telemetrics phone a real plus for handsfree law abiding citizens, the rest of you are a real hazard on the road, should ban smoking at the wheel too!! grr She is a real pleasure to drive, that 2.0 oil burner is a very lazy unit and 6 gears makes effortless cruising. Ride and comfort a pleasure. A nice car, I love it, shame PSA are not as good as their products!! Cheers Terry
  6. Does anyone know if the trip computer is fitted to all C3's and just needs activating. Mine is an exclusive 16v 1.4 HDI
