  1. I was looking at citroen web site and they have a 1.6 SX auto listed there, no details as they are updateing specs
  2. Had car about just over 5 months now 4500 miles average mpg still 37 . car is O.K., still seems a little to bouncy on the suspension on grid and rumble strips car tends to jump sideways. Gearbox still misbehaves sometimes clucth judder and a couple of bad changes but not lost gear again yet. To be honest I would change the car now if it had not lost so much money might wait till next year see how it goes over winter. If the starting of in second in cold weather is as bad as it sounds I think that will be goodbye to the C3. As for what I will replace it with I've no idea
  3. After 4 Months 3000miles still can not make my mind up. Like look of car love the dash, boot space is a little small but O.K. Gearbox I think is dissapointing changes great 95% of the time but in traffic and on junctions it is useless. Get clutch judder sometimes pulling off and changing to second. Got some road humps which need 2nd gear if you go just a little to slow clutch bangs or judders. Pretty dissapointed with the gearbox really. Slowed down for a junction left hand side road was in 3rd in manual mode forgot to change down which should not be a problem turned corner got 75-100 yards in new road up bank car right up behind me, suddenly engine revs and no go, looked at what gear it was in and it said 1st but it sould of been in 2nd did not go anywhere near slow enough for 1st (I have to go very slow on 1 junction on my estate parked cars on bend and it never changes to 1st). I am pretty sure that there was no drive , knocked gear leaver and it went in to 2nd and was fine. Don`t know why this happened and it not done it since (about 300 miles ago) I know there was a girl with a C2 on C2Forum that had lots of problems with clutch judder and lost gears I hope mine is not going down the same route. I know the girl took hers back and they did not sort it, in the she got rid of it. As for gearbox learning how you drive I don't think so. Think I would prefer BX 4 speed auto at the moment much better changes, or even a manual gearbox at least then it would be me makeing as mess of the gear changes. Also don`t think it handles as well as mine last one on bumpy surfaces may be the Jazz was just better. Still ave MPG 37. This week on holiday average on car 44MPG about 41 to 42MPG in real life then. So car is begining to annoy me a little, not enough to go down the dealer yet.
  4. Saxoauto how did your service go, did they sort your problems
  5. according to Citroen website the 1.6HDi 92bhp@4000rpm 158lbft/1750rpm 1.4HDi 16v is not listed 92bhp@4000rpm 147@1750rpm the Mpg is almost the same but urban is 4mpg lower though So a slight improvement in low down grunt with less MPG on urban, Slighty higher Co2 Emissions 112 to 118 The diesel has been on the site for a while now. cost £100 more than 1.6 petrol Sensodrive.
  6. A lot depends where and how you drive, going to work everyday 7.5 miles I'm getting 36.2MPG on clock which is abot 33.5MPG actual. This is the best I've had since haveing the car due to warm weather. I do not do many long drives so my average will not go very high. On older car about 7 years ago I would drive a lot at weekend and walk to work in the week my MPG was alot higher then because of the long journeys. I had various cars one Montego 2.0 GTi Estate Auto which with the auto and weight was doing well in the late 30s MPG with lead feet.
  7. I surprised the ticket holder is not on any more. Dont miss the old C3 Exclusive don't like manual gearbox, seem to have problems with the clutch peddles leg and foot aches in traffic. Don't know why Citroen have not got a CVT gearbox the new ones do almost the same MPG as manual and are as quick, (Could be cost). The Jazz has a 7 speed manual mode though I think 5 would of been better, it did jerk a bit if in a hurry but in normal auto it of perfectly smooth as it uses pulleys change size makeing variable gears, just sounds weird because of the revs staying high as if you ar slipping the clutch. The Rover had a similar gearbox too and that was O.K. I would of had a Jazz again if the dashboard was better and they bought the bigger 1.5 engine in the country, I think the C3 has better plastic than the Jazz, the thing I do miss from the Jazz ar the folding seats they ar load better that any small car I have seen. Sometimes wish I could have a Citroen BX with the old style ZF gearbox liked the car it was a nice size not too big or small, thought a few times about having one as a second car but car tax, insurance and running cost put me off. Was tempted when a BX GTi Auto was on Ebay, it was well looked after and fairly local wasn't very much money but insurance put me off.
  8. Not had any problems with wheel spinning. Do get the odd time when the clutch judders starting off in 1st and changing to 2nd not sure why. Leather is not worth the money personally won`t get it back when sold. Think I have already said I don't know why I didn't have the SX suppose the 1.6 was a little faster. The Sensodrive gearbox is great most of the time but I hate how it works at junctions at the moment not very impressed with the gearbox. Tried driving it with the paddles a lot although it is better still not very good at junctions. The car I love , few minor rattles and squeaky seats. If I was buying again I would more than likely go for 1.4 SX Auto but think i would be to slow for me or different car but no idea what.
  9. Honda Jazz Urban 39.2 extra urban 56.5 Combined 48.7 My Average 41.1 C3 Senso urban 34.0 extra urban 54.3 combined 44.8 My Average 37.2 C3 Manual urban 35.3 extra urban 55.4 combined 45.6 My Average 36.8 Don`t know Rovers but to be fair I was a bigger engine and my foot was very heavy. The honda did not do very well on trips to work on urban roads traffic jams aith air con but did well on longer journeys. The Man C3 did get the heavy foot treatment Air con always left on auto, did only have it through winter so that would not help. Senso C3 not so heavy feet with this, but air con on auto does have a lot more town driving. The big thing that make mine a little low is when cold they have a hill to climb (which who could tell on the Jazz because off the better fuel computer) if I went the the other direction with no hills the MPG would not drop so much. If the c3 Senso averages about 35 or more I am quiet happy. Will be better that 1.6 Corolla auto at 31 MPG never had a car rev so high when cold.
  10. The miles you can see on the photo is 68.7 miles on trip. I fitted the DVD after the 1st service, so had done just over 1000 miles then. The MPG was done on a longer journey. Most of the time its around 30 to 36MPG, but the clock is about 2 to 3 MPG higher all the time as I keep a check on my petrol every time I fill up. The journeys you take will have a big difference on MPG short drives you will get a lot less. Most of my driveing is at least 7 miles with not to much traffic giveing 36MPG on clock about 33 actual MPG. The highest reading I`ve seen was when I filled up with warm engine and did 25 miles on quiet country roads and just got to 60MPG when I hit traffic after 100 miles if was on 55MPG. After the journey back it was about 53MPG. Just A few off my previous car MPGs My Average since haveing the car is 37.2.MPG 2200 miles My Honda Jazz was 41.1MPG 13200 miles My Previous C3 Manual was 36.8 over 3900 Miles My Rover 25 1.8 CVT was 31.1 over 7500 miles As you can see the Jazz was best MPG. The Rover The worst MPG but it was fast.
  11. yes you can fit after market stereo, but some have problems with alarm etc. I have fitted 2 C3`s with other stereos. Firstly turn ignition on and make sure old stereo is switched off before turning ignition off again. The remove the old stereo. Make sure your wires match on the new stereo the ignition live and bettery live may be the wrong way round. The connector is standard ISO size but I would advice you not to connect to the cars ignition live, this wire is connectted to the multiplex computer and is cause of many peoples problems, best place is to connect to cigarette lighter live or accessory socket if fitted. There is more info on the C2Sportclub website here. C2Sport radio wireing It is easier if you buy a ISO to ISO adapter and cut the wire off at the end connected to car and join a new wire to the radio end of the adapter to ignition live on cigarette socket. You may need a aerial adapter depending on the stereo you buy.
  12. I done 206 miles trip today Average 49.6 MPG on clock so most likely 46.6 MPG not to bad for 1600 litre I suspose, driveing in North Wales hills on mostly "A" roads. Highest was 54.9 MPG. Strange thing is it seems to stay at 49.6 for last 60 or so miles, even when putting foot down a little. The ave MPG on the Honda Jazz would change now and then by 0.1 MPG if climbing hills of going down hill. The computer does not seem to update very often and when it changes ave MPG it jumps by 0.5 or so. Still find car O.K. except it does not like rubble strips much and jumps side ways, Only other car I can remember this happening on was Xanita
  13. Looking at the spec for the SX makes me wonder why I Bought the Exclusive. All I got was a few things extra Alloys. which are hard to clean extra draw under drivers seat lights and mirrors in sun visor cruise control. which I never use child pack. No kids Moduboard. which can be useful leather steering wheel cover 1.6 engine. a little mor power alarm.
  14. SAXOAUTO I have thought of getting the sill protectors but the seem expensive even on ebay, I have already got a exlusive badge fitted had it last week. Still like car except for qearbox at junctions, read on Aussie forum mine seems to be normal car changeing gear just as you want to pull off. Tried manual change and can not get it right, got a week off work so hopeing to get a few miles done this week.
  15. Can`t see any pictures Saxoauto does not work clicking on them to see show picture. My car is still O.K. few minor problems, small stone chip on windscreen, don`t think its deep enought to be repaired. Seats squeak a little but stereo cover that up, too much trouble to take it in to have it sorted. still pleased with car, average 37 MPG computer still reading 3MPG more. 1480miles done.
  16. I was looking in the boot and decided to check the spare wheel. Firstly noticed it was only held by a strap most other cars have a bolt or simliar in the center of the wheel. I would image this will add to noise on bumpy roads. Secondly it does not look like a space saver wheel by the size of it, but it has a sign on saying no more than 50 MPH / 80KPH and the wheel is coloured red. My last C3 had an alloy spare. Citroen seem to be cutting bits of there specs to save money here. No parking ticket holder on windscreen. No Electric folding mirrors etc.
  17. Few pictures of dash and engine My Webpage websites are easy to do there are a few programs that help to make them or you can edit HTML in notepad, I use microsoft frontpage.
  18. Glad you like your car Saxoauto must of been worth the wait then. I still have problems now and then wher car seems to change gear at junctions just as I need the power, takes some getting used to after a normal auto gearbox. Fitted DVD player today, tried reversing camera but was not very good (not wide angle lenses) so not bothering with that. No problems with electrics so far display seems to work fine connected ignition feed to the cigarette lighter trim very award to get back together but went fine. Need to go for a drive to test the sound quality not changeing standard speakers unless sound really bad. Shall take a photo of DVD installed when I can. Still doing about 37 MPG going work and back (7.5 miles) and a few longer journeys. Your car had a lot of miles on mine only had 6, is that because it had been to get the hand controls fitted?
  19. Couple of pictures of my car are here My Webpage
  20. I think there is a way to bypass the keypad, I am sure I read something a while ago about starting engine and either disconnecting the keypad or altering the wireing, if you do a web search you may find it. Good luck.
  21. Car booked in for 1st service Monday, lets see how good the dealers is. Also got the code card today it was missing in the pack when picked up.
  22. I tried the kickdown today, yes it does work a little slowly though, probably never happen before because I was running it in tried not to go over 4000rpm.
  23. Yes loads better than the Jazz which was only 1.4 and CVT gearbox. As long as you remember you have not got a kickdown like on Automatic gearbox. You can change down with the paddles in auto mode it stays in that gear for a short time approx 12 secs depending on how are you accellerate or put in manual and you have more control over when it changes up.
  24. The reading were from full tank to one light then reset when filled done two times so far. Honda Jazz was normally out 1.5 to 2.5 also.
  25. Never heard of the switch I know there is problems with the multiplex had this with previous C3 there is a work around. Make sure orginal stereo is turned off with ignition on then turn ignition off and fit new stereo connecting the ignition live wire from stereo to cigarette lighter. Lots of information about it on C2sportclub forum The problem I may have Is the handbrake switch must be connected to stop DVD working when driving. Reverse camera just needs live feed from reverse lights not decided if it will be worth it yet. shall try it wireing up to power pack first see how it works.
