Hi try changing the settings on the radio press the traffic button select the traffic menu then select won of the different options I think from what you are saying it is set to all messages and the geographical filter is set to the max distance lower the distance and I would think the static would stop I use this setting hope this helps Longdead

If your display sits on top of the dash in the middle like my c5 exclusive se 02 then all you do is pull the plastic surround up away from the display take care of the wire that goes to the LED then just undo the 4 screws and unplug the connector form the display I have had my out and to bits many times why it would change colour I haven't a clue hope this helps LONGDEAD

Ta Longdead ps To those who read my other post about my colour display it's still working what do the dealers no I have got in touch with citroen uk and they are looking into why the dealer said it's taking so long 9/8/2010 citroen believe they may have found my parts in Poland

just to up date it is the display in the center of the car I got a display from a scrappy and it did not work this was last October and they had it back because of what the dealer said I been after another one got one last week put it in and it does not work I phone the dealer and they are going to have a look at it on Tuesday 27/04 BUT yesterday 24/04 it worked I have also tried my original one and that worked I shall wait now to see what the dealers make of it again I have also got hold of the car communication unit very cheap old one but its new with all the software citroen new is £1400 when I ask the deal if the display should work with out the radio the did not no Ta Longdead Been to the dealer they have no idea all they said is it's working and they can not find any problem I said to them that you had the car for one week and insisted it was the display so I got one and now I have two display that worked all the manager could say is that is what his technician told him What can I say but how are you suppost to have faith in the dealer they are the one's that have the equipment and the knolwledge they charge over the odds and are crap I know not all are the same but I would not recommend A---N F--D in Northampton to anyone

Hi I don't no how to copy links but if you would go to page 2 on technical and read topics colour monitor/wirer colour help or in short it been playing up it works now and again and it affects the radio and the stalk for the radio My car has been into the main dealers because of the Suspension it took them 2 weeks to tell me it was the pump this time when I collected I made sure as the display was working when it went in it was working it was but I drove from the dealers to the shops and it started to play up mid week it was dead I took it back after lots of complaining they looked at it 2 hours later they told me it was the computer at £1400 I didn't believe that it could be so they had the car for a week and now they say its the display £600+ I don't believe that as I have tried a display from a scrapyard but the insist that it is the display but they will not get one in to prove it I have no faith in the dealer they have look at my car five times in total at a cost of nearly £2000 the only paper work you get is the bill I have asked for the diagnostic paper work but they don't give you it as they are the only main dealer and it has to be main dealer only work I have no choose so if I can get mine tested or a new display and it doesn't work I can go back to them Ta Longdead

Hi no as your help to get at the washer bottle (7-01) I removed the bumper so that I could get at the bottle to sort out the leak could I have caught a wirer butting it back on ? Ta Longdead

Hi I said I checked all the fuses that I could but I phoned local citroen for a price and they told me about £650 fitted it has to be garage job because it has to be plugged in but they then said have you checked the maxi fuses under the fuse box in bonnet no I haven't so I checked and the 40amp fuse had blown £2.69 Halford but it still does not work I believe I can hear it work when I turn the ignition on for a few seconds and when the engine is running if I put my ear to the fluid bottle there is a sort of humming like sound as if the pump is working As I have said I checked the fuses and to play safe I disconnected the battery to remove them do you think it needs to be plugged in to reset or what ever they do or is it some think else ? Ta Longdead

Hi I have had a look at the fuse box it's not like the old ones that what makes it hard to find what wire goes to what I am going to try and follow the live ones back after reading that link is'ant it funny that some think easy to change you can't do because it has to be programmed what I said about the traffic master happens at times when I turn the ignition on and it tells me it's out of date rabbit rabbit I have removed the phone kit it was connected by the two main sockets that goes into the radio those two sockets connect to a loom then the loom connects to the radio it has a small pcb in the middle with other wires and fuse that would go to the hands free The unit didn't blow the fuse it was me fiddling with the wires the car has never blown a fuse or blown a bulb in the six years that I have had the car I think that's good I don't have the software for the satnav does any one know haw to get it with out paying an arm and a leg I get my maps free of the internet 09/10 out last month As for the dealer I would not dream of judging all of them as the same but it's just typical of Northampton if you say a diagnostic can read the satnav I might have to get one I have had the unit out (bit of a bugger thou just for one screw) to get at the plugs better Thank you all Longdead
-
Hi thanks I will have look on google and I think I try and find where the permenant live goes I believe it did have a hands free kit but that had it own loom that connected to the radio sockets then into the radio I can not disconnect the traffic master as it connects to the radio wish I could fed up of it rabbiting on some times NOW THE DEALER my car had to go in it would not start new fuel pump and valve that they said broke when the pump put to much pressure fuel through don't no why I should have had to pay for that £721 in all and they had no print out for me The sat nav was working when it went in but not when I pick it up the reply we did not do any thing to the sat nav not our fault good bye I been led to believe that a diagnostic can not read the sat nav I no that they charge £75 thanks for your help I read other reports of yours and they are very good you have help a lot of people thank you Longdead

Hi it is the sat nav unit wires go to the DVD/Colour display and I believe some may go to the radio and may go to the traffic master unit which is above the fuse box on the left. I have been having problems with the display not getting power and radio not working properly. I am trying to find out what wire is what. I have read all the post about this and have had the same problems as others, there is no power going into the unit sometimes. I know this because when it works I have to reset the date and time. I know the yellow plug has in it a grey multi lead that goes to the display, the others I don't no where they go. The brown plug has 3 white wires and I don't no where they go the other. 2 plugs go to the video socket. I now believe white is live but should all the white cables (4) in the yellow socket become live when the ignition is on ? I have been checking it today and have found that 2 are live when the plug is out of the unit, do you know where this power comes from ? I am pretty sure I have a bad feed some where or earth problem later on I went to go out but the car would not start believe or not I had blown F11 in the fuse box why would this stop you from starting the car ? the list of fuses in the book is not that helpful Any help would be appreciated. Ta Longdead

Hi can anyone tell me which wire is the live feed to the car communication unit that is under the dash right of the steering column, does it feed direct from the fuse box or is it feed from something else? My car is an c5 hpi exclusive se 2002 Ta Longdead
