  1. any chance of getting the stepper motors driving the speedo/tacho?
  2. Hi! I'm from Sri Lanka and C5's are a very rare breed here (there are 6 1st gen cars, no newer models). My Speedometer stepper is bust and I've switched over the tacho motor. Trying to find a replacement (to get the tacho working) but no luck so far. A mechanic checked a few broken 406 displays but they didn't have the same kind of motor (he hadn't checked a Jaeger unit, which is what I have) does anyone know any other cars (non-Citroen) that used the same motor? Some Pugs? BMW/VW/MB? Thanks /Sifaan
  3. Hi I think this method only works if the door has got locked due to a malfunction in the child lock. Even in my case it was not the child lock but some internal plastic that was stuck (and later broke).
  4. In the end it turned out that the Child Lock had not been engaged. I tried the slapping idea but it didn't work, but while driving (and accelerating or braking) I heard a snap noise from the stuck door. Tried opening from outside and it didn't work. But later, just as a thought tried opening from inside and it did work. now it simply doesn't open from outside but does from inside (whatever snapped, caused the block to go away but has disconnected the outside handle) There was a similar problem with the front driver door, can open from inside handle but not from outside. some shaft or connector had snapped and the garage fixed it with a self-tapping screw. So maybe some piece was under stress and was causing the "stuck"ness, and now it has snapped. I guess another self tapping screw may be in order...
  5. Hi! I seem to have the same problem with my 2002 C5 offside rear door... not sure if it's because of Child lock or not, but the door cannot be opened from inside or outside... just to clarify, can the procedure you describe all be carried out with the door still closed? Or do you have do some trickery to get the door open in the first place? Thanks!
