  1. Picked the car up tonight at the appointed time - looks very good and drives well. I'll be giving it a good close check tomorrow in the daylight but initial impression is good. Repairer had to get approval for a replacement Sensodrive ECU as the old one had some damage to the casing but still worked. Forgot about having to stump up the insurance excess to the repairer before the keys were handed over - ooops. Paid by plastic. All settings (radio, clock etc) need adjusting as battery was disconnected during repair but shouldn't take long but I'll have to get the handbook out to refresh my memory!! Smokescreen
  2. Glad to hear it - keep up the good work!!
  3. Can i just add my tuppence worth. Although a C3 owner but reading most areas of this forum - humm could do better car wise but at the time the HDI Sensodrive was the only reasonably priced 2 pedal diesel car that could get me back to work after rupturing my left achilles tendon - can I say that one can't tar all dealers with the same brush and KFK/iannez seem to bend over backwards to help answer members questions and concerns and only seem to get trashed for others 'technicians' shortfalls. Hey, let's take what they say and use it to assist sorrting out our cars at the edealers we use. That's all - I hope KFK and Iannez don't leave the forum over this post!! Smokescreen
  4. Well finally after 2 weeks of waiting for the insurance assessor to approve the repair, it's go go go!! A bit of bartering between assessor and garage over hours estimated and discount on parts supplied but a compromise agreed. Went down to collect courtesy car this afternoon and got a good look at the car ' under the skin' as damaged front wing and all front end had been removed in the space of 2hrs. No damage to chassis so the car's crumple zones did their job - it should be as good as new when finished. 7 working days given to complete subject to parts arriving as promised - fingers crossed. C2 1.1 SX as replacement in the interim - hummm. Should be OK to get to and fro work which is all I'm asking! Smokescreen
  5. What a bummer - managed to customise my C3 the wrong way this morning when I met a tree that had fallen across the road with its lights on at 0440hr. The annoying thing was the driver of a car in the opposite direction who had stopped abeam the tree - his side of the road was clear - with headlamps on mainbeam having a look at it. In the time it took to think "what's that car doing parked on the road" out of the dazzle appeared a tree. With nowhere to go around it I then proceeded to drive through it whilst braking. Tree was dead and I cleared the road of the b***dy thing but in doing so it twisted around and dented both nearside doors, sill, rear panel and broke the back light as well as shattering the front end of the car and pushing n/s side front wing back and putting a crease in the o/s one. Needless to say the other driver drove off straight away. Car now with Citroen dealer being assessed and I'm awaiting the go ahead to be given from the insurance company to the dealer before a courtesy car is given. DEEP JOY!!! At least I didn't feel a thing during the impact - NCAP safety really worked - but the car looks AWFUL. The plastic front end just shattered, headlamps smashed etc, but then it could have been worse - DEAD springs to mind. Oh well - can't do much whilst awaiting of the cogs of insurance claims process to whirr into action. Hope after all of it the car is as good as it was before the modification. Regards Cheesed off C£ owner aka Smokescreen Off course it should have said the tree had its lights OFF and cheesed off C3 owner!! Smokescreen
  6. Many thanks KFK, its 20000 interval then! Only 7000 to go till the second 20K one. Regards Smokescreen aka Mark
  7. Hi there, Just a nagging doubt now. Car checked at 1500ml and service counter reset to 20000 miles which I queried with service counter personnel as handbook showed 12500mile interval. I was shown a service sheet which was headed with service intervals showing what looked as if 20000 miles was correct for 8v HDI - Citroen had just increased the service interval. I emailed Citroen who replied agreeing with Citroen Dealer. Car serviced at about 22000miles and counter again reset for 20000. However, having just found KFK's web site, it shows 12500 for C3 1.4 HDI Mk1 (mine is one of the last supplied) and shows 20000 for C3 Mk2s. Has anybody else had the same story. Regards Mark
  8. Hi Mark, I've been looking at your progress on the clutch issue. I too have a 1.4 HDI Sensodrive (one of the last available prior to revamp to C3 2) purchased mid Oct 2005 (55 plate) and wondered whether this could be a problem waiting to happen with mine. I commute 120 round trip every day and have already done 34000 miles in 14 months. Clutch juddered once in first week I had it but since then, touch wood, it's been OK. Only warranty work needed was a new seal/gasket between rear of turbo and manifold/cylinder head as oily/sooty mess was being deposited over head and turbo. Mechanic broke a plastic lug on top engine cover during 20000 service but it was replaced free of charge after ordering a replacement. Best of luck with the clutch. Regards Smokescreen aka Mark !!
  9. Hi there. My experience has been to fill the tank brim full each time and the first light bar goes out at 120 miles. Thereafter, about 80 miles to each light bar until the bleep when down the last bar usually needing 40 litres to replenish the tank to brim full. On a couple of occasions when stopping he filling at the first click, it only takes 40 miles before the first light bar goes out. Trip computer accurate normally to within 2-3 mpg. Regards Smokescreen 1.4 HDi SX Sensodrive
  10. I can concur with 'stimulator'. C3 purchased from Worthing Motors last Oct and have found sales, servicing and parts Depts all 'spot on'. Fixed price servicing 'as billed' - don-t forget to add VAT to prices displayed - and no need to book car in for service, if you don't mind waiting whilst it's done. Booking the service is essential if you need a courtesy car as they sometimes need over a weeks notice owing to customer demand. C3 1.4 HDI Sx Sensodrive
