Looking at the posted picture there's no need to add anything to the oil as after you've removed the top engine cover it should be patently obvious where the leak is!!

My previous C3 55 reg SX didn't have separate temp control for both sides. In answer to your question, I would guess that something has become detached or broken in the heater/air con box area. I suspect one of the experts will come along later and give you clue - best of luck. Regards smokescreen

Having gone to the site, it doesn't recognise my access code or password. Has anybody else had problems gaining access to the site? Thanks smokescreen

Nice one KFK - well stated.

Yes - Citroen website lists all the C1 options (VT and VTR).

Believe it or not the climate control is the one thing I do miss!!! Having to twiddle this knob to set temp and then rotate another to direct the air here or there - climate control dead simple, set temp and leave it well alone except when demisting first thing when all that is needed is the push of one windscreen demist button until its not required any more. Otherwise, I'm well pleased with the car.

Well after 3 years and 3 months of fairly trouble free ownership I've traded in my black 55 reg C3 1.4 HDi SX Sensodrive 89500 miles on the clock. What decided it was just before Christmas two injector seals needed replacing and then the aircon packed up. The Citroen dealer made me a good offer on my car and, being a glutton for punishment, I just couldn't resist a 06 C3 1.6 HDI 16v VTR. One owner from new and the car has only done 12500 miles. Extended warranty for 1 year with the option of extending for a further plus free breakdown cover. I wasn't intending to buy that model but having sat in it, the sports seats are so comfortable and the car drives so well. Loads more torque and so far its given much better indicated mpg on the long run back from picking it up than the 1.4 did going to collect it. I expect when I get around to really driving it the mpg will dip but the book figures are not far short of the 1.4 anyway. Lets hope it's a good'un and that the garage won't see it too often except for regular servicing. Smokescreen Black 06 reg 1.6 HDi 16v VTR

I've been watching your post and thought an expert would have answered by now so I'll try myself. As you say, foot on the brake when starting with a sensodrive should then allow the starter motor to engage and start the engine. Did the starter try and turn over the engine when you did this or not? If it didn't then I would suspect the a switch on the brake pedal needs looking at. Otherwise something else would appear to be amiss. It's a pity that you've had this problem which I'm sure had tarnished your viewpoint on your C3. Mine, touch wood, has been well behaved when starting, only suffering a couple of minor things during my 3yr of ownership. Hope this starts you off on the right track. Yes I do!! I was surprised when it happened to me as I thought that a small car with a short bonnet wouldn't be susceptible to scrapping the front spoiler negotiating ramps in a multi-storey car park but it does unless you slow to a very slow crawl. Similarly with respect kerbs, so now I always reverse into car park bays where kerbs are seen at the slot end. Surprisingly, the spoiler doesn't seem to be too worse for wear, just a couple of shallow scrapes which can only be seen by getting down on your knees and looking up underneath. Hi there, Might I suggest that you take note of KFK's 'words of wisdom' before you go any further - it will probably save you money in the long run. Regards Smokescreen 55 reg 1.4 HDI SX Sensodrive

Hi there, Just a thought, have you tried Citroen who supplied the kit? I expect you have. Regards Smokescreen 55reg C3 1.4HDI SX Sensodrive

This made me really chuckle but how true!!! -
Smooth gear changing comes with practice - lifting off the accelerator slightly when the computer selects the next gear helps. Use of handbrake essential at all times when coming to a halt in case there is the slightest incline. Manoeuvring into parking spaces takes quite a bit of practice, especially if its parallel parking on a hill - handbrake again makes life easier. Have fun Regards Smokescreen 55reg C3 1.4 HDI SX Sensodrive

Hi Imbridgen, I have a 55reg 1.4HDI Sensodrive so can fully relate to your predicament. This is not an automatic car as such but a computer controlled clutch and gearbox machine. So when you come to a halt with engine running the computer disengages the clutch as if you have your foot on the 'missing pedal'. So when you wish to park if you leave the car in gear - the computer should have changed down to 1st gear - and switch off the engine the clutch is then released and the car will not move as it's still in gear. If you wish to start and move off, you have 2 options. 1 is to select N with the gear stick, put foot on brake and start engine. If you release the foot brake, the car will roll if on an incline so the handbrake needs to be applied to stop this happening. Or 2, with the car in gear with ignition on and foot on the brake pedal, when you turn the key to start the computer will automatically kick the gearbox into neutral N, so the handbrake will again need to be applied if you're on an incline. My car changes into 4th about 33ish and 5th about 43ish when on a flat piece of road with light accelerator applied. You can always force the car to change gear early by flipping the up paddle on the R of the steering wheel or pushing the gear stick forward once, even if auto is selected at the base of the gear stick. You will have noticed that the car does have engine braking when slowing down but that will be lost below about 7-8 mph when the computer disengages the clutch as it knows you are coming to a halt. Hope this makes sense - any questions please ask. I've covered 76000 since new Oct 2005 so have had plenty of practice with this setup. Regards Smokescreen 55reg 1.4 HDI Sensodrive

How true - thanks for the amusing edict. -
Hi Lisa, Try leaving the car in gear with the handbrake off and then see if it makes a creaking noise. If the noise has gone then you know it's the handbrake, Mine does this occassionally, I just apply it one more notch up then the noise goes. Regards Smokescreen 55 reg C3 1.4 HDI Sensodrive

As far as I can remember, no they didn't but I'm sure when you log-in it'll all become clear. Smokescreen

Hi There, My son is in the same boat - he has just passed his test and looked at Direct Line but found Churchill to be cheaper. Only minus point with both is they want the money up front, no monthly payments. Best of luck Smokescreen 55 Reg C3 1.4 HDI sensodrive

Hi Reggiep, The box thing behind the rear view mirror is the rain sensor for the automatic wipers. I can't answer fully your question about the difference between the Sx and the Exclusive as my brochure is for 2004-2005. In these years the Exclusive had all what the Sx had plus more!! Probably as it's been misdated as 23rd February it stays at the top. -
Just looking at this issue it seems that what iannez is saying is just meter across the battery when engine is running, 14V will prove that the alternator is working and charging the battery. If the battery is subsequently not holding its charge there must be something draining it - boot light staying on or something else? Regards Smokescreen
