  1. Sent to Citroen Australia and Paris Hi, I cannot believe the low level of service for citroen in Australia. The motor of my car has already nearly been destroyed by one of your dealers and not repaired properly. I know this for a fact. He couldn't even change a timing belt. Now I want to upgrade some maps for my C5 II 2007 build. It has an R$/5 navidrive system fitted. I cannot believe how you treat your customers. In any other country I can download these from the net. Here I have to deal with people who cannot even tell me whether the maps they have will work in my car or not, and charge me 373 bucks for the privilege. As I said, all I want to do is upgrade. Also, they couldn't even tell me if POI, Stop light camera, Speed cameras etc were included. I, and many others, find the level opf support for citroen in this country to be a joke. Anyway, there is still the business of the telephone. I have been ensured by several citroen people that it should work. I talked to a tech who installs bluetooth for a dealer who pointed out that he doubts that they ever worked, as then he wouldn't have to install bluetooth in cars with inbuilt phones for a major Melbourne dealership. Not good enough really. IO'm sending a copy to citroen france for them to read as well. There is no reason such a wonderful car should be so badly supported, yours sincerely Peter Jones (Absolute dickheads_\)
  2. Haha, not knocking a Briggs and Stratton. Australian lawns are kept short by a bevvy of them. :) I am glad to have gotten to the bottom of this. Hopefully she will be back on the road soon. My C5 is the best car I've ever owned. Bloody beauty. I don't want to be controversial but I think I'd rather have the C5 than an old D series. Awesome motor (when it's working of course.)
  3. Use dedicated wiring kits. I bought one from PFJones though there are a number of suppliers. It will then need to be recoded so that cars computer recognises whether there's a trailer is attached or not
  4. Problem found: Cause uncertain. Three broken rockers. Car down to two cylinders by the time it reached the mechanic. Likely suspect: The dealer in the Riverina (Australian) who changed the timing belt and started the motor with the locating pin still in place and then tried to cover their incompetent arse by patching up the motor. That was just over 14,000 ks ago so I don't blame the person who sold me the vehicle. Still a bargain at the price I paid for it. Message to this and other mechanics: THIS IS NOT A 60s Vauxhaul or a Briggs and Stratton lawnmower you're playing with DH! Anyway, hopefully that is the extent of the damage.
  5. Mmmm, that is what I thought too. Mind you it is what I am paying a mechanic to sort out.
  6. Do you know that diesel injected under the skin can kill you? That's why only specialists should touch these motors. Be careful.
  7. I have a 2.2 BiTurbo and it has been running smoothly apart from the odd thud around 50/70/90 kph. Yesterday it stalled at very slow speed while turning a corner under no stress. It started fine. Today it started fine from cold and then all of a sudden started running on 3, and at times perhaps 2, cylinders. I drove it straight to a mechanic. There was smoke coming from behind the motor. Any one encountered similar problems?
  8. Thanks, I couldn't find a reference anywhere.
  9. I checked my oil today and there are a high and low level marker. What is the volume difference between the two markers? I assume that it is either 500 ml or 1 litre. Any clues?

    C5 Pdfs

I have it running on a basic toshiba note book (intel duo 1.6 ghz/2 gb) under windows 7 using VM Ware. Excellent and wel worth the 9.99 pound download fee
  11. You have purchased a really complex vehicle. I have experience with mechanics having rebuilt motors in my youth but would not touch one of these beauties apart from checking the oil, water etc. Above advice is good but most importantly take it back to the mechanic. They should repair this.
  12. Here is Australia, the only company who gives a written guarantee for their diesel fuel is BP. I am loathe to try any other brands seeing they will not go to the same lengths. The BP guarantee is rock solid in that if you use them as your sole supplier, keep receipts and can prove that your car has been regularly serviced, then they guarantee to fix any fuel system faults attributable to poor fuel quality. It is of course much more detailed but that is the gist of it. I just did a search at each company under fuel guarabtee and BP were the only company I could find who gave one in a written PDF file format.
  13. Just wondering if anyone has any experience towing a light (1250 kgs) caravan. Any suggestions on set up and stabilisation/weight distribution set ups welcome. I have a witter tow bar (detachable flange) fitted to a C5 diesel
  14. Not sure what you meant by firmware. Do you mean the OS for the Navidrive onboard computer? I updated that and it was a heart stopper (hoping it would work) and it did. Just followed the onscreen instructions, the main one being, Do Not turn of the ignition while the update is under way. That was for some software I found on a torrent on the web. Anyway, it did update but rather unimpressively and so hardly worth the risk I took.
  15. That's what I thought. I have Lexia (Diagbox) and associated paraphernalia. Just wondering whether some one could take me through it, step by step, or is it easy enough to try?
