  1. Most citroen dealers/ specialists will be able to give an idea of the problem and cost if you present your car too them. If you bought it to me i'd give gentle presure at each corner of th vehicle and see if the suspension went up and down. If you do that and the only thing you see/feel is the tyres bulging then its highly probable that a sphere or more has failed......this has to be done with the engine running and the suspension at the normal ride height. As for recharging spheres......yes it can be done but i wouldnt recommend it considering the price of spheres worth looking here suspension parts
  2. but what about the corrosion build up between the brake caliper and the suspension arm? have you checked the clearance between the caliper and disk?....is the disc nearly touching caliper on one side whilst having loads of clearance on the other?
  3. No idea the picture i had was black and white.......but blue sounds good, never seen a pink one round the back of a radio
  4. no you cant get the cable separately it appears to come complete with the motor assembly
  5. It might be recognised that a vehicle suffers with a particular fault........ and a dealer may do all within its powers to affect a satisfactory repair. What you dont take into account is that only recently have parts become available to resolve the brake noise, and i hasten to add.....NOT ALL C4'S ARE AFFECTED BY IT.......some already have the modified parts!
  6. Clutch and Brake pedals have a ruber cover, Throttle pedal doesnt.....just checked the parts list to confirm it.
  7. Steering lock doing its job.......love it :D
  8. Yup .....and i've just woken up :(
  9. From memory i'm sure theres nothing to disturb when removing the rear glass. The wiper arm comes off, the switch cover removes, then undo the big nut holding spindle into glass assembly. i dont thing theres any linkage to get out of adjustment...might be worth unclipping the plastic cover on the glass and looking
  10. i still have a ZX, reliable and fun to drive without the squeaks and rattles of modern cars!
  11. reliability wasnt really an issue.....although some suffered from rattles from the variable timing pulley.......they sounded like diesels
  12. I've got to be honest.......we have had one at our dealership, had plugs, coils and injectors.....it didnt change anything. Our feeling was that the injection ecu software was causing it, which unfortunately we are unable to do anything with. My gut feeling is that it's something you might have to live with until it worsens
  13. The lubrication system in the the C3 is separate between gearbox and engine so additive in the engine oil is ok. Incidently, its a dry clutch as the sensodrive gearbox is a manual unit with a couple of large motors bolted on to change gear and operate the clutch
  14. 10 seconds is normal for the glow plug to extinguish, if its taking longer it isnt an indication of a fault with the glow plugs....and if as you say it started ok i'd leave well alone. The shower head that flashes - its the oil level indicator - its a dipstick!!! Check the level before you drive it........if its correct on the dipstick it could have a sensor fault. The sensor isnt used other than to flash the light so its not urgent to repair it.....just check oil regularly.
  15. Dont know when you last had a spark plug replacement, but due to the lean burn engine they do tend to eat them.....its recommended they are replaced at every service. Other than that, the hpi engine isnt the smoothest, again mainly due to its lean burn characteristics.....is it a problem that has developed or a problem that has always existed?
  16. As you are aware the car will only start if 'N' is visible on the gear indicator. It would appear your vehicle has lost its memory as to where neutral is, consequently it wont start and then goes through the process of reinitialising the gearbox. My advice would be to book your vehicle at the local dealer and explain the problem. Ask them to check the battery condition.....it maybe failing which is why it happens. Also the brake light switch can have an affect and the starter motor.....but it doesnt sound like there to blame. Take all your keys and confidential card in to your dealer and ask them to check if there are any updates for the gearbox/injection system.....there probably will be and you may find it assists with the poor reverse to first gear selection.
  17. You say the ligh comes on when you press the switch, and i assume the compressor doesnt clunk into life several seconds later. The ussual fault with air conditioning is lack of gas. Unfortunately theres no eas way of checking this without spending money.......and theres always the possibility that a component or seal has a leak which wont be noted untill they go through the gas recovery process....this can add to costs. Halfords do an airconditioning top up kit with pressure gauge.......See here Might be worth topping up to see if its just below the pressure threshold limit, if you can read, know how to do tyre pressure and your not colour blind it should be within the ability of most people to do.

    Suspension.

There are more technical ways of testing them........but that would add to the cost, which isnt really necessary if the bounce test is conclusive.
  19. Whilst i've not had any problems yet with C4 'home installed' radios, i've had plenty with C2,C3 & Picasso. The problems range from issues with displays not functioning correctly, radios that loose memories due to wiring issues, central locking not operating after 30 seconds of locking, and cars not starting. Now i cant see that the manufacturer has changed much with its wiring of the C4 unit, it still has 2 data wires that go to it to share information with dash and main computer and steering controls. If you disconnect the radio the main computor will still look for a unit on the end of the wires. Sometimes it might hang and cause undesirable results, other times it will be ok. My advice to anyone installing a radio is to have the old unit uninstalled from the main computer......it cant cause conflict then. Incidently, connect either of the 2 data wires to a positive supply and you will more than likely kiss goodbye to the main computer, so its worth getting the right connector if your not competent with car electrics.
  20. I'm pretty certain that if you were plugging a CD multichanger in that too would require programming of the RD4 unit to make it operational........its not plug and play unfortunately. So i wouldnt think the blaupunkt connector would be plug and play either. Maybe someone knows differently
  21. Your a lucky boy then
  22. RT3 = Factory sat nav with slot for sim card on unit RD4 = CD/Radio ..................................................................................................... Only for Citroen RD4 - Ipod Lead/Auxiliary input. Part number for lead - 9706AG The radio has to be configured by your dealer to turn the Auxiliary input on. They do this by changing a setting in the RD4 unit to Classic Mode (conventional). If the lead doesnt work make sure the connector is wired as follows: Black wire terminal 11 Red wire terminal 10 White wire terminal 4. If your looking to change your radio unit the part number for the interface harness to convert from can bus wiring to ISO is - 947540. You would need to have some configuration done at the dealer to tell the car it hasnt got a std radio fitted. Hope this helps you all.........and as point of reference, your dealers do know, your just asking the wrong person.
  23. Sometimes we need the information because customers are talking about things that are new to us......you have to remember that the average technicians experience of your car and the facilities are by 'fiddling' with the controls when they carry out a PDI. As far as turning the aux socket on.......it can be done.....and as you say its accessed by our computer. I'm aware of one having been done at our dealership.....and as simple as it sounds to do, its ok if the information your looking for says 'click here to turn aux on'....but it doesnt. I know for a fact that every dealer has the information to do it......the correct person to ask at your dealer probably isnt the service manager......he wouldnt have been on that course. I'll post the details when i dig them out.
  24. So who's told you remapping an ECU wont affect your warranty?......Citroen?....i dont think so.
  25. C3/C2/Pluriel with missfire: Fault more than likely caused by water leaking from washer jets after they have been operated......dripping onto injectors. The injectors have some moulding marks which allow water ingress and allow it to corrode the injector terminals. Replace injector and screen wash jet with new seal. Coils can also be troublesome...not as much as the injector though.
