  1. I am not sure if they do rear tinted windows on the C5, if so would be the better option, i like the tints for security and the kids, it offers them better UV protection and helps cut diwn glare from the sun, i had inbuilt blinds on my last car witch i know they do for this but i would prefer to tint,
  2. Thanks paul wasnt sure on how many mls it was till first setvice but i knew it wasnt a lot.
  3. I wanted to tint the windows on my car and was wondering if any one has theres done, as most will know the rear window is a strange shape but is a good looking design, when i called up a couple of tint companies one refused to do it! One wanted me to take car to them to decide to do it or not and if the made an attempt and couldnt i would still be paying for it due to material and time, the 3rd says they heard you cant do it on them cause the window is to complex for shaping the tint! But again they would give it a go if i wanted but if they couldnt do it i would still have to pay! These are all professionel tinters. I am curious if anyone has had theres done as i am thinking of doing it myself as i can fit tints but dont like doing it due to the time it takes. But i have never attempted such a complicated shape window and dont want to waste the time trying if it cant be done.
  4. I am interested in getting a subwoofer for my car preferably original equipment not a daft aftermarket thing that takes up half the boot, i have the single cd mp3 player with jack plugs for aux in on glovebox. The stereo is really good but was wondering if i could fit the sub and amp purpose built for the c5 also where would i find one other than main dealer!
  5. Thanks paul, i wasnt sure between H8 or H11 as they are very similer, i have been off work ill an my sister has the car so i cant check the book to see what it was.
  6. You should try the "Michelin hybrid blades" i got them on my c5 current shape as they came with flat blades, Michelin Hybrid Blade looks and is flexible like a flat blade but has the standard blade underneath a flexible rubber cover, so you get a good clean wipe across the class. I noticed that sometimes you dont get a perfect wipe from a flat blade
  7. First service is usually about 3500 on brand new cars. But the 20k or 1 year is just a guide, most of my cars were serviced every 6000mls when i worked local but as i can achieve 6000mls pretty fast in my new job i am sticking to 12500mls you can service your car if and when you like but i wouldnt let it go past 20k mls at most as your oil and filtets will be past there best, yearly service is pretty normal, advice i have been given from members on here is reguler servicing and not to go the 20k interval as the turbos get choked and blow, so i would recommend every 12-13k mls for a service! As this is a first service i would get it in and done as the first service is always earlier than the rest, i think its to clean out an debris that may be in engine when built to remove the risk of damage and also new engines are tight so the oil may burn quicker (go black) and the fresh oil just lubricates better. So i would say they are not trying to bump you! You will see in your service book there will be a 1st service stamp placement, it may tell you there the recommended interval for 1st service, i hope this helps and sorry for the long answer but its good advice, definately dont go to 20k between services
  8. When i got it in may it had 45k its now at 56k and showing that my service is due very soon, yeah i will keep on top of services i need my car to be reliable for work, must admit love my C5 its a really nice car, ive had skylines, evos, hondas, mg well pretty much every brand going & this is definately my 2nd favourite, first being the skyline as it was just in a differant league altogether,
  9. Does anyone know what bulb goes in the foglights on the new shape (x7)? I fancy getting a set of yellow bulbs for my foglights but dont want to buy the wrong ones as any bulb i have baught so far hasnt been the normal style for any car! They always seem ti be odd
  10. Car runs sweet and has more power also.
  11. I had DPF system fault on my 2008 (x7) 1.6HDi 110 vtr+ and it turned out the fuel filter was choked which caused fuel pressure to drop. Easy fix and worth trying first as it cost me £22 to put right. I have lexia 3 and fault codes were p0087 & p0093 which comes back to be fuel pressure sensor and massive leak, so i checked for leak then thought what could cause drop in pressure which is when i came to conclusion choked fuel filter

    We Buy Any Car

They wont offer you money for plate on the car, they will offer bottom book price and try to knock more off the price by looking for dings, scratches etc then they charge you for admin fees and the cheque to buy the car which is £45 i think, i tried we buy your car scotland and they offered me a very good price for my signum but i guess they would do similer to we buy any car! Which is rip you off! You can always pop into a dealership an see if they would have interest but guessing they wont with high mls.
  13. Sorry oonce you activate using Lexia it the comes up in your settings so you can switch them on and off as you please
  14. I had to activate them with Lexia, but there are 3 differant settings 1. Dedicated DRL. Thats the ones that are your drl. 2. Shared DRL. Which doesnt bring on the drl bulb it puts your headlights only on, 3. DRL shared with sidelights which is self explanitory, Its pretty easy to do once you figure out where to go in lexia, but once you have activated them using Lexia it gives you the
  15. Thats no problem. Hopefully will help someone else out in future, save them some pennies. Car is going great drove 40mls this morning going to my work and feels smoother and more responsive than it ever has, cant believe something so simple made me think my car was done, and that i thought i was looking at a big bill to put right! So glad i have got myself Diagbox! Worth every penny!
  16. Well i am please to inform you that my C5 is fixed and running better than it ever has in yime i have owned it! I hooked up lexia and got 2 fault coodes P0087 & P0093 which come back as low fuel pressure, and bad leakage so i had an idea of where to start! First thing that came to mind was Fuel Filter! So had a look for it and found it. It didnt look new so i took it out and judging by the dirt it has been on the car for a long time! Even though i have a fully stamped service book! @12500k intervals. I got a new fuel filter and reset the ECU i now have no EM light and no DPF system fault either and the car pulls like it should. So for others who get DPF system fault coming up on there dash and limp mode cutting in. Try changing the fuel filter first is my recommendation it cost me £22 & 10mins to remove old and fit new, and you may find your car will be sorted!
  17. Thanks paul, got mine set for every 12500 max.as i do mostly motorway, only thing i get is dpf fault which has caused limp mode, also a wee cough every now and then (rare) but think its dpf
  18. Central scotland, got lexia3 7.04 Daigbox & pp2000. Compatible with C5 as i have used it on my 2008 (X7) 1.6 HDI vtr+
  19. Hi all, got the current shape c5 1.6hdi vtr+, the other day car died under accelaration and dpf system failure came up, car restarted but was im limp mode and shuts down under any strain, Now i have Diagbox and been on and reset yhe fault codes and from.what i can see its some sort of fuel issue, after every reset it goes fine for a mile then dpf fault shows and EM light comes on along with limp mode, 3 fault codes show up first time was injector, 2nd time was fuel pressure! Has anyone else experianced this and any ideas on how to fix?.
  20. I have the Lexia3 which works on the C5 and i activated my DRL's myself. Took me about 10 mins to do it and it looks great,
  21. My name is James as you may have guessed from my user name, i drive a 2008 C5 VTR+ 1.6 (110) HDi in Arctic Silver current Model, love the car, i baught the Lexia 3 set up and works great on it as i have been tinkering with it to see what i can do and from what i can tell there is the possibility of some nice upgrading i can do, went for the C5 as i like the look of it since i first saw one and it hasnt dissapointed me yet! Spec is great and my personal opinion one of the best cars in its class. So hello to all
