got a mate that works for castrol,and i had this conversation with him over engine oil and the 20k oil change before,and he said that modern oils be it synthetic or semi don't break down like old oils and infact would last alot longer than the 20k the problems are caused by the filters clogging thats why they say change the lot at 20k.....

which model did you go for? personnaly i got the sx,wish i had gone for a bit higher model and got one with climate control instead of the manual air con thats all i miss from last car just done 1k and love the car only thing i'm unsure of is the fixed steering wheel not one for two hands on the wheel and keep catching radio functions and end up changing channel all time.Salesman tryed to get me to have a picasso but not into mini buses so went for the c4 :)

i have got a knocking coming from the front, when it rides the bumps not too sure that the wheel arch covers help dampen suspension sounds though seem a bit flimsy going to get checked out at 1k check up.......................

lets hope they make the most of it with some fresh advertising campains tag it onto the end of the skating transformer.As for the civic mixed feelings dont mind the shape although it has not recieved the best write ups but more worrying is the uk manufacturing issue, They need to sell to keep the plant open and the swindon guys in work as all manufacturers are waiting to pull the plug at the slightest thing just like rover, pug/citroen,tvr,vauxhall etc:( .......................

you may remember the robot but also that its a citroen advert and it gets people talking about them so its done the job,my nephew (age5) loves the adverts and wants to see my car transform too says it cool,he also wants his dad to get one...target the kids they tend to get what they want these days :D

I have seen on another topic about polish before on here but cant remember if it mentioned costs and where to purchase from etc all i can remember was something about clay decided to keep on top of this motor and would like some recommendations on which car polish fetches this paint up best.Slight restrictions on time and cost ie don't have hours to spend doing it or want to spend silly money on it but i want it to look smart as this iron grey seems to look dirty quite quickly.

most of my driving is on country lanes etc with a bit of town driving average speed is 29mph on computer not as good as wifes 1.4 jazz thats up at 49.8 at minute but the c4 is a bigger heavier motor and im not into supermini size cars and we are more than happy with 37mpg both unleaded,tryed super unleaded before but £1.05 A LITRE made me feel ill when filling up.

mines the 1.6 petrol engine and its got 800 miles on clock and this is showing 37.6 mpg which it has been on for a few days now and im already impressed as engine is still tight and no where near run in but good figures and aircon has been all constantly and i aint no sunday driver either..... :(

mine is clear, computer / radio display is orange and so is the rev counter but speed display is clear with a hint of blue to it even when lights are on.

I myself have no problem with my c4 infact i seem to have converted at least 3 poeple at work who are considering purchasing one.All saying its a good looking motor .The car is a head turner and i like the car,what i can't understand is why Citroen have recieved this negative press of Worst Manufacturer.which was based on customer satisfaction. i think the c4 is an ace motor a break from the norm.It's a shame that when they recieved an american car design of the year award they didn't make more fuss about it,because its the negative stuff that sticks. but the loyalty thing puzzles me because its the consumer that misses out,take the dreadfull mark4&5 escorts sold bucket loads and absolute shite motors, but people still went and paid top dollar for them, because 'im a ford man' if people were more open to change then maybe the c4 would be up in the top selling motors where it should be for flair lone and maybe more manufacturers would be more confident to make different stuff instead of endless facelifts .... by the way still got the faith in the c4 and the c3 i got loaned was ok :D

Don't know if you have seen the press today but a bad day in the office for citroen.Slated as the worst manufacturer and then two cars in the worst 10,one being the c2 Interested in your views,i'm not one that sticks to a brand but i do find with these type of forums that people do seem to,and that makes me wonder why? Would you stick to citroen or try something new.. Do you think citroen are the worst or not,ive never had more than two cars off the same manufacturer partly due to the bore factor when i change thats what i want a change. As for getting the worst manufacturer recalls can't help as they base findings heavily on this type of thing hence why most of the top ten are Honda's etc and these just dont get recalls. Its far too early for me to judge citroen so for me the worst manufactured car i've had has been a vauxhall and i've had alot of the main players The car felt more solid than the c4 ie door handles trim etc but constant electrical problems which is one of the reasons i dont like having all the electrical stuff but thats some thing else

have to admit if i had gone for a 3 door 'wicked red' would have been my choice it looks superb on the car,black is nice but a bitch to keep upto....

i had the very same kind of fault on my last car.came up as a misfire on cylinder 3 coil pack changed fault stayed,car would misfire and then run perfectly in emergency mode.Afraid this fault remained for over 3 months basically the car lived at the dealers.the car was a vauxhall but they stripped enginge altered running temp changed all the sensors and ecu unit and also rewired the full electrical system all covered by warrenty but they had to admit that they couldn't find what was wrong only that by doing all of the above the fault went.It was very thursty on juice though. Got rid of the car 3 weeks ago because the warning light came back on and out of warrenty i was not going to pay for all this work.The engine management lights can be difficult to fault trace but on the other hand it could be something as simple as a split pipe My advice is to stick with the warrenty and get a copy of the reports /finding for future reference because ecu units are not cheap good luck...............

not noticed anything with door alignment but mines going back for the first time due to rear windows both sides (5 door) not sealing properly noticed with all this rain insides of both doors wet,can see water running down inside of the glass and full of condensation in the mornings and the windows wont wind up any further...... :)

mpg reading on my 1.6 is up at 30.7 after first proper run,not sure with it being new if this will increase much when its run in engine is well tight at moment but only got 60miles on clock..

got rid of the vectra because of the same engine management problems pain in the arse.infact ran it the last 12 months with light on never stopped infact it ran better in the emergency mode wouldn't have another vauxhall all based on same engine and you never see an empty vauxhall service department,thats why i said bugger it and chose something a bit different....

Picked up car today first impressions are very good like the shape looks ace on the outside,handles superb compared to last vauxhall,even give the centred clocks the thumbs up,only real downside so far where the hell does the front end finish?Have to park up to a concrete wall at work and will be hard to judge where the bumper is,but very early days so will get use to that i hope. The seat trim has been altered from one i test drove looks better but not sure how hard wearing it is thats one for time but at the moment chuffed to bits with it.shame it p##sed it down within an hour of picking it up filthy already....

The c3 is a bit of a queer fish....This exclusive has all the toys but still looks plain,not going to impress anyone,cant make my mind up if id have one as a shopping trolley or not,but for the money think id go for something else.folk at work dont like the shape but i dont think the what car ratings of 2 stars is fair,it drives ok just boring to look at.. Pick up the C4 tomorrow (tues) can't wait................ :blink:

Still not got my c4 yet ,was due ast monday but never turned up still in France,anybody else have any delay's. Can't complain too much dealer has been superb by giving us a new motor whilst it eventually arrives. Not too fond of the car though a c3 exclusive 06 plate in Black.Only done 45miles.They have gone to town on the spec level including full leather seats all the gadgets but its an automatic like driving a bleeding milk van... You can put it into semi auto using paddles on steering wheel but this was only fun for an hour. Wouldn't mind a c4 in this spec level though cause its superb.................... BUT NOT AN AUTO................................

not sure the name but it was turtle wax 'something to black' did vectra before i sold it and never used anything on it before (door handles and beading strip at bottom of bumpers) but it came up superb with out buffing or anything even fetched bold tyres up :P
