  1. ask the dealer if the location points should have been sprayed with anti rust spray, use it at work to keep jobs rust free.it is comman practice to use it on threads.but a bit of rust should not cause your problem realy but its worth trying, i would redrill and tap mountings and put larger bolts in if i were you as long as roof rack can be adapted. Then oil em up after use!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Well it seems the yanks like the design of the c4 according to the sun today in the motor section they have given it the '2006 world car design of the year 'beating the bmw3 and honda civic so maybe even yanks have got something right for a change! :o
  3. Yes its true all new models tend to have recalls and at least citroen are addressing the problems better than vauxhall did. last car was an 01 vectra, engine management problems every few months gear box faults clutch problems and finally drive shaft problems and this wasn't an early model been around since day dot.Ended up with engine rewire new computer and altered running temp stopped faults but drank the juice..... so as long as proper fixes are given can't complain :P still not sure if i like the cabin clocks being central but the out side of both the 3 door and 5 door make it stand out for me and prob reason we went for c4 in the end........................
  4. :P Just wondering if you are still happy with the C4's after all the recent recalls and paint problems.Haven't got mine yet (hoping for the 8th of May) but i had endless problems with present motor (just sold on ebay) but put it down to being a dame vectra but issues like air bag recalls and brake squeals, these must have had months of tests before launch especially the air bags being a safty feature. I still can't wait for new motor but you guys who have had a while would you buy again knowing what you do now? and would you still recommend...................
  5. seriously £180.00 plus vat for a light bulb, can think of better things to splash cash on especially now summer months are coming!
  6. The car i went for a test drive in had a dame brake squeal, and only drove a couple of miles but that noise would have done me head in constantly. Good to see they are addressing problem Hope they dont forget to sort mine out before delivery !
  7. Its all a big money spinner,as soon as decent diesels with performance to match come about ,would you believe it costs more than petrol, taxes will just follow the latest craze to make them in line with every other option.do you have to service a diesel every 10k or some thing? mates had a diesel for 2 years and he loves it but has only done 5k a year in it,completely pointless!
  8. That front end looks sh*te,looks like a halfords special..................
  9. was between the two but think red suits the sportier versions best would have liked to have got a second hand ie 6months older model but higher spec but due to taxing purposes and work had to get newso got the 1.6 sx 5 door.had a red and a grey outside thought grey looked the better on that model.... maybe next year B) ................
  10. Just had a simular conversation with the sales rep at citroen garage. He also had to admit that the colour choice for the c4 isn't the best although he like me had favourites it's lacking a few more varieties of the same colours...... Wozza you were right the colour on the spec books is IRON GREY.it just depends on the light as to if it has a hint of a blue to it. Thats the colour we have gone for in a 5 door ordered today pick up in approx 3 weeks.....................................
  11. that saloon looks ok from that picture but a bet its poor from back not for me!.... Got a silver car at minute and would like a change this time round everyone seems to have had or got silver but c4 looks good in it. Just fancy some thing fresh but silver does have its advantages hides marks better than most Them wheels look smart on 5 door syrup..........
  12. has anybody got any idea which colour blue the c4 is on the cover of the booklets provided from the showrooms.both the product and technical information and the main spec one have the same car on the front but this does not match up to any of the colour samples or the colour configurator on there main internet site which frankly makes all the cars look poor.
  13. sounds like monkey metal bolts to me.always advisable to run bolts down holes first with a bit of lube oil to clean up threads and to shear you must have put some force on them can only think that you may have crossed threaded them or that the bolts have actually bottomed before clamping rack. were they the original bolts with same thread as car ?...............
  14. thanks for all the replys and pics placing order beginning of may so a few weeks to pick our favourite and trim level. cheers..........................
  15. yep agree it does suit most of the colours but i prefer to see it on the car rather than on a colour chart.problem most at the showroom were wicked red and black, which i liked but black is a pain to keep clean........... does anybody have a picture of a c4 in oriental blue!
  16. nice motor like most motors three door looks the best but cant have wi kids but that red is something else cheers.................................
  17. Hi new to this forum and have been searching the net for a c4 forum for a while. Seriously considering buying a new C4 but require 5 door model we test drove was a 1.6 sx petrol.Cant make our minds up between the colours chart oriental blue and the wicked red. Before we went to the showroom i would not have had a red but it looked excellent in the showroom.Colour we had in mind was blue but not too dark.Problem was none could be viewed on the for court and have not seen any on the road, any advice out there?
