  1. It has been 1 1/5 years since this post was live and..... Hi, I am thinking of applying window tint film to my 2011 Saloon and have a few questions that I hope someone may be able to answer. I am thinking of only 50% on the back end so the contrast between front & back is not too great, any thoughts or experiences, as I have black part leather I feel the lighter tint will also keep the car relatively light inside as I have black part leather.1, The UK legal limit for front glass tint is 70%, what is the standard tint of the Exclusive glass, is it 5% so therefore I can only fit tinting film of 75% only?2, How easy is it to do or would it be better to get it done professionally.
  2. I have my C5 (X7) for about 3 weeks now and am mostly very happy with it, however,........ With my past 3 Citroens (and my wifes basic Corsa) you could open or close all the windows using the remote, this was very handy in two circumstances, On a hot day you could open the windows and start cooling the car down before you get in from the other side of the car park. I could operate all the windows just a little to allow air for my dog or close them quick if it started to rain. My Mki 1 C5 did but the C5 mk 3 does not or is it just mine that does not have this feature!!??? ?
  3. Yes reading the blurb, it certainly does, I will see what is involved in getting the system from a scrap car, I also did not like that with this particular 'kit' you drill new holes in the bumper, above the number plate and do not use the same hole positions as the factory fit ones.
  4. Paul, It would have been nice to have drawers under the seat!! one of the things I miss from my C4. Parkesie - Thanks for the information, much like my mk 1 did as it got older.
  5. Hi , I have just found the dealer fiting instructions for front sensors and I am now completely confused as the dealer said that the display would show the distances at the front of the vehicle, this is from the fitting instructions and no mention of the visual aid on the LED screen, question points in red, the only benefit over the cheap ones is that the activation is automatic, depending on speed of if you were in reverse 20 seconds ago. DESCRIPTION Parking assistance assists the driver in performing his manoeuvres. This parking assistance guarantees full detection of static or moving obstacles that are liable to be hit by the vehicle. An audible signal of variable intermittence indicates the distance between the vehicle and the obstacle.Comprises:1 Active park control unit;4 conventional sensors with set of shims (5°, 10°, 15°);4 flush sensors with self-adhesive support kit;1 supply harness;1 switch;1 bag of fixings (spacers, return springs, tie wraps, terminals...).1 buzzer;Instructions in 10 languages (FR, EN, IT, DE, NL, PT, ES, PL, CS, HU).Reminder of the principle of operation of the front parking assistance:It operates from the time the vehicle moves off, for 5 seconds, to detect any obstacle in front;Permanently while reverse gear is engaged and for 20 seconds after reverse gear is disengaged; On pressing the ON/OFF button, for 20 seconds. If the press is too long, a new press deactivates it.TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:Pushbutton control with indicator light.I will keep digging.................
  6. Hi, I never got a handbook with the and have had to download one from the http://service.citroen.com/ddb/ website, and page 8 shows the memory buttons and a number pointing to number 2 with the comment " Memorisation of driver’s seat, rear view mirrors and air conditioning settings " and but mine only does seat & heating. Also page 58 states " In reverse gear: adjustment of the indexed positions for the passenger’s and driver’s rear view mirrors " and this book was supposed to be the one for a 2011 model. So I am now very confused and will continue digging.
  7. Hi, I have a 2011 exclusive and reading the blurp on the web I should be able to make the left hand mirror point towards the kerb when reverse is selected to help parking, like my old Mk1 Sx did, but it does not, also that when the seat memory button is pushed the, seat position, heating & mirrors are all supposed to be adjusted to that drivers requirements, but the mirrors don't move, have I got a problem with the memory module, if so how do I check and where is it, or do I have a low spec exclusive? Any ideas anyone?
  8. Thanks paul.h for starting the post, I have been doing some looking around and where I am up to is, I can buy a 'kit' from a Citroen Agent for £206, when I asked them whether they will fully integrate into my car I received the answer "These should work with your existing led display and have an audible warning. they will need to be programmed into the vehicle by a main dealer" Now the tricky bit, getting them programmed into the car will need a Lexia, however, I believe, definitely with the early clones and possibly the newer versions (still looking), that when using the equipment to program/update parking sensors it corrupts the system so there do not work, however, reading on another forum, The member who seems to have done a lot of investigation says that he used the Peugeot Planet software and told his car it was a 407!! http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=405435#p405435. So now, I save up my pennies and buy the kit, Lexia cables/software and the planet software and play or buy the kit and get a Citroen dealer to program my car to accept the front sensors - ??? When it happens I will give you all an update :)
  9. Thank you John, Yes it is the same as yours and after a firm push it folded back down again. Thanks again Stu
  10. Hi All, I have been driving automatics for a very long time, as I just can not see the point of a manual - must be getting lazy. ! My question is does anyone know how to drive a C5 with an adaptive auto-box?. As I said earlier I have been driving auto for a long time (years), but this is the first with the adaptive box. Driving normally, relatively sedately, the gearbox goes up & down the gears smoothly and without fault. Driving a little more enthusiastically, keeping below 3,000 revs and the same with a little longer between 5th & 6th. Now, if I floor the throttle, like in an over taking maneuver, it will change down to a more suitable gear and take off - great. However, it will not change up again when I lift my foot off the throttle like you would do with 'normal' auto boxes, my owners manual even states, on page 66, "If you suddenly lift your foot off the accelerator, the gearbox will guard your safety by not changing up again." but it does not say anything on how to get it to change up again, my answer is to use the 'trip-tronic' method, but sure I should not have to! Is there n instruction booklet explaining how the system works and how it should be driven? Thanks in advance Stu
