  1. I topped up with PatFluid bought from eurocarparts shop (Product Code: 524770302). it wasn't cheap product though. 1ltr £35.49. I have just spoken to a citroen dealer and they said they will charge £313 to top up the fluid. I don't think that there were any oil leakage. I will try to buy a laxia to do force regeneration and thanks for the advice Rookie2. I ordered a dpf cleaning fuel additive from ebay. I will try this first. Just to add: I have spoken to Citroen Dealer about the cost of topping up eolys fluid now..and the price they gave me will cost me an arm and a leg.
  2. I had a fault code relating filer cap about 11months ago and filler cap has been replaced, since then no filler cap fault code appears...so assume it is working ok..but still i will manage to test it if i can buy a laxia 3 ( i saw them for £48 on ebay) i had fault code of PAT fluid being empty 14 months ago...we topped up with 1 litre only and literally the tank was empty. since then i have already driven 11k. in the laxia reading shows fluid additive remaining 3000ml which is really absurd and no way even close to near. I drove a frozen car for 5mintes to take it to the guy today to run the diagnostic, hence the coolant temp was 79 degrees Particle filter shoot load 81%.. does it not mean that 81% is blocked? To Rookie2 Thanks for cheap in. Normally i drive around the city but once in every week i take my car for motorway drive..and i follow this rule to drive high speed in low gear as much as i can to get the shoot out. Irony is, i used to get this fault code pops up only when i used to drive in motorway. the guy i bought the car from last year, he seemed drive it for 2miles round trip every day for his job and before him this car was used for delivery purpose. so i think those people locked the DPF somewhat... well, can i regenerate the car myself with PP2000 Lexia? I can get it for under £50 from ebay.
  3. Hi Paul, I have got someone to check my car with Laxia..he checked air flow and everything and they all were correct. then when he checked Particle filter he said dpf is getting blocked and it needs cleaning..other thing is my pat fluid was empty one year ago.. i topped up with 1ltr...but on the list it says i still have 3000ml in the tank. could you have a look paul.h the attached picture and see what should i do.
  4. Oh God! fault code p0238 doesn't want to leave me. since a week this code is keep coming back. Just to refresh the memory guys, this fault code used to pop up whenever i used to go motorway. stays few starting (minimum 5 stating) then go off. there was no loss of power or nothing. I am just wondering why the hell it is coming..one of the guy said when DPF gets stuck this code pops up..but according to the fault code list p0238 is not related with DPF blocking...DPF blocking fault code should be different..I changed solenoid valve, turbo booster sensor, cleaned egr valve even though it was clean already. still this code pops up occasionally. I wish if i knew what causing this fault code to pops up i would love my car and do some upgrading. but alas, no one knows.
  5. I am just wondering if i can do decarbonise my C4 1.6Hdi with water or any other product. I have seen some videos of decarbonising car engine with water in youtube and it seems that's is easy to do..but still if anyone can tell me how exactly to do it. that would be appreciated. Thank you.
  6. the smoke is not blackish black..kind of blue...and I checked the turbo outlet...there was no oil at all...tried twice...but no sign of oil..I used tissue.. other thing is I noticed that almost every car smoke.and their smoke and my smoke is the same colour..someone said it because of winter, but I didn't see last year winter my car smoking.
  7. Burnt fuel or oil..and it irritates eyes.
  8. I can't be sure..but there was no smoke before doing servicing whatsoever. Last year i used different oil bought from eurocarparts..but this time i used recommended oil and genuine citroen oil filter bought from ebay. smoke doesn't occur all the time as i said you guys..its only when starting from cold engine and as the engine warms up it kicks off smoke and through out the whole drive no smoke...but if you stop and let the car running you will see slowly smoke is being emitting.
  9. To be honest with you..oil seems to be bit higher than the full mark..I have checked this afternoon again and it seems oil level crossed the criss-cross mark of the orange part of the dipstick..In fact the whole orange part covers the oil.
  10. I didn't pour the oil. it was local garage who did oil and oil filter changing..I have done air filter and cabin filter. I gave him 5liters oil and he didn't give me back any remaining oil..I tried to check with dipstick and it appeared to me that the oil measurement was right.
  11. Nice to see you back coastline taxis.. I don't think the guy will bother to do the test again...yesterday we went to Birminham to visit my friend and round trip was 292 miles...fuel costed me 29 Litres which seems to me as same as it was before. and by the way,it doesn't constantly emitting smoke only when starting from cold engine. As slowly as engine becomes hot it starts emitting smoke for few minutes and then stop...so only time when engine getting warmer from cold car emits smoke..and they are not really blackish black to be precise..they are kind of blue... This change started sience I have changed the engine oil (low Saps- total quartz Ineo ECS 5W 30), original citroen oil filter. MAF Sansor Meter was damaged though and I have replaced..so don't know exactly what might causing this smoke. there is no loss of power though. it could be normal, but my point it I have never noticed it before changing oil,oil filter and so on.
  12. Smoke is not gine..this morning it was huge...don't know what's wrong..MAF has been tested ok..even with another MAF it does smoke...can it be because changing oil...or something...as I had c ha.ged oi, oil filter etc!
  13. I took the car to the garage this morning to run diagnostic with Laxia to check what's going on. the expert said everything was all right. Air intake temperature is good. Only problem he noticed was the connector and he fixed it. Still it was slowly emitting black smoke but very less if you leave it running for some times. He recommended me to use some injector cleaner fuel additive which I did...hopefully everything is sorted now...and i learnt my lesson not to brush cleaning the dust from MAF Sensor.
  14. Thanks for your compassion Paul.h. My EGR is clean. you remember the fault code p0238 I had. my EGR removed and checked as part of that fault code 5/6 months ago..that time we saw that it was as clean as new. I have sprayed EGR3 because of the recent fault codes of MAF Sensor meter..garage guy said I might have some oil in exhaust. once they are burnt out, there will be no more smoke. But how come there will be oil in there! when I take air intake pipe out to access MAF Sensor I can see some oil in the pipe which is connected with the turbo. I think this is normal, isn't it?
  15. The black smoke is not coming constantly now. only first few minutes of starting and when the car is in idle position. its not even too much. when I took the car to the garage the man even couldn't see any black smoke coming. he revved it but no black smoke whatsoever. Car drives very good, even better than before. no vibration, no shaking or jumping. is there any product that I can use to clean the exhaust through the air intake. I need to mention here that few days ago I used WYNN'S DIESEL EGR3 AIRINTAKE CLEANER. Oh God, is it because of this I am having black smoke and it will be gone in time? any idea?
  16. what is temperature sensor you are referring to? is it Intake air temperature sensor? where is it located in my car? in citroen service diagram it was showing somewhere near the left side of the engine by one of the two big hoshes. part number 1920 pj. is that the one you talking about? or just a temperature sensor? please give me any link of the picture. thank you.
  17. Hi Paul.h, I think I am in serious trouble. I have just cleaned off the 2nd hand one (Which sold as original part for my car from ebay) with electric connector cleaner and compare mine and this one side by side to see what damaged did i do..and i believe i have broken a very thin wire inside the black part of the sensor section. if you see the pictures you will understand what I mean. Anyway, that's not the problem. i can buy another one and fix it..but the problem is my car seems not recognising any other MAF. hence producing lots of black smoke with strong oil burning smell. As you know that at first 2nd hand one produced the fault codes and throwing engine light on, but after cleaning, it seems its not producing fault code anymore other than hell lots of black smoke..So i am thinking if i even buy another expensive one car will produce smoke unless i can sort out what causing the engine to produce black smoke. ...do you have any idea what else i can do?
  18. i wish if it was that easy in my case. I took that out night before last night and used electric connector to carefully clean it, left it overnight to dry it and inserted in the morning to see if it solves the problem. but no luck at all. as soon as you connect it and run OBD scan tool the code P0113 is there..engine light will not come unless you drive it two or three times. I think i broke something of the sensor and that's why when it is connected, computer recognise that something is missing from the sensor. I looked inside carefully, couldn't see any damage even sensor is right there as it should be. WHAT THE HELL DID I DO!
  19. Original part in Citroen Romford,London is £160.66 which is little bit higher than what i found in eurocarparts and i can get 32% discount from eurocarparts from online purchase. I don't know what make citroen does stock in their shop but in eurocarparts they have exactly same one (Pierburg) as i have now. I haven't had black smoke at all with original one..only fault code P0113 and engine light on. when I tried with other one which was HAAS (bought from eurocarparts original price £104.99), it gave me black smoke and shaking but no fault code . I had to struggle a lot to return it for the refund. so if i wanna buy Pierburg one and it gives me black smoke and shaking then I am risking £103. I don't think eurocarparts will take it back as they will be saying it was electric part. So recap is 1. Bought one from ebay- (Collected) price was £47.90 = it gave me 3 fault codes straightway and engine light on (code deleted, but they don't go away) 2. Bought one from Eurocarparts brand HAAS original Price £104.99 = Gave black smoke and shaking when driving, no fault code or engine light though 3. Bought one from ebay 2nd hand taken out from same car according to seller description = Gave me 2 fault codes straightway (code deleted, but they don't go away) 4. Now using original one = engine light on along with fault code p0113
  20. Thanks for the valueable info. the second hand one (took out frm same car same year, bought from ebay) didn't work at all. I found exactly same one which is Pierburg on eurocarparts costing £152.99 but am scared if it gives me black smoke and vibration like the other one I bought from them price was £105.99. I mean what is the proper way of doing it? will disconnection of battery be any good before changing the MAF replacement?
  21. Does anyone know whether i have to reset ECU after changing the MAF sensor. otherwise why my new MAF sensor will give me smoke and rough drive, but no fault code though. And how to reset ECU?
  22. Definitely you were right. This MAF Sensor is not giving me fault code but its giving me rough drive and whole lot of black smoke. my back tail has become black now. tomorrow first thing i will do is take it out and return and meantime i will use my original one. I have already ordered one from ebay which is as same as mine and was taken out from same car as mine. hope that will sort the problem out.
  23. Just to update the post...I bought another MAF Sensor (this time from eurocarparts costed me £72 after 32% discount) this evening and so far i didn't get engine light on. I was keep diagnosing, no engine fault code except the older one which i had previously related with glow plugs. (finger crossed) But other weird thing is car doesn't drive as smooth as before. i feel like it vibrates too much and occasional jumps (misfire could it be!). any idea why its happening..or its just normal behaviour with the new MAF Sensor for the car to get use to it.
  24. yes...I did..but fault codes just keep comong back instantly...so i returned the MAF Meter..it must be something else..I can not think of anything...yesterday I took the air box out and put the filter otherway round, deleted the fault codes and drove around hour and half until engine light comes on..
