  1. Hi paul the swirl valve and other parts have been removed by someone the dealer quoted £360 to refit the missing parts, I took it there because it was in limp mode all the time, as a quick fix the dealer put a bolt in a peice of tubing to make the vacuum and also had to manually open a valve or something so it increased the airflow to the engine, the assembly that should do this had also been removed. This cured the problem, what i want to know is where i can locate this to open it up again? as it has somehow been closed and the car id very sluggish
  2. Hi ive a 2.2 hdi c8, when i bought it unknowing to me there were parts missing like the diesel swirl valve and a few bits that adjust the airflow to the engine, i had it in the citroen garage and to make do they opened the valve up so it had constant air, not a good fix but did the trick. Ive recently had it my local garage for another job and somehow they must have closed the air flow valve so the engine isnt responding much. What i want to know is where is this valve so i can manually open it myself?
  3. Cheers for that, i dont get any vibration or difficulty changing gear, its something on the clutch that pushes the pin out in the master cylinder still doing it even after a new one, so the garage told me the clutch would need replacing and as the DMF is attached to the clutch it really need replacing too, there going to strip it and let me know on the condition of the DMF wheel
  4. Hi I have posted before C8 2005 120,000 2.2 HDI, i have a clutch problem, the clutch pedal will not press down its jammed, i was told it would be the slave cylinder as it pushed the end out and would need replacing, Its in the garage at the mo, they have replaced the part but the same thing is still happening, they are now looking at replacing the whole clutch which i have agreed to. What i would like to know is they are telling me the duel mass flywheel (£240) will also need replacing as its something thats always replaced when the clutch is replaced is this correct? the car runs perfect when driven from started in gear, no vibration or anything so i have told them not to replace the flywheel is this a good idea? any replies would be welcome :-)
  5. Hi rookie not sure gonna have to take it to the garage for repair :-( as i dont have the facilities to do the job myself, thanks paul h mine is a 136bhp model
  6. Hi Paul thanks for that, still a garage job for me but at least not a £600 repair job, i presume the slave cylinder is under the bonnet and not in between the engine and gearbox?
  7. Hi All after a bit of advice see if anyone knows the problem. Bought a C8 2005 2.2hdi with 100,000 miles on the clock 2 years ago, the garage that sold it told me they fitted a new clutch and would give 3 months guarantee. Ive done 40,000 miles since then. Yesterday after a 300 mile trip i started the car as normal, pressed the clutch pedal down and it suddenly vanished sort of underneath the bulk head. i pulled it out with my hand its in the normal position now but ever since im unable to press it down like its jammed, and unable to drive the car. To get home i started the car in gear and got nearly home as i had to stop at a junction. When i tried to restart in gear the battery was flat so ended up being towed home. Also i was getting lots of electrical problems like "air bag" fault "immobiliser " fault, allsorts going off. Has anyone any idea what the problem could be, i would expect a clutch to last longer than 40,000 miles and even if its gone i would still be able to depress the clutch pedal,Can anyone help PLEASE :-) regard Richard
  8. thanks we will have to see if they find anything when it pressurised and tested :-)
  9. Hi all i bought 2.2 hdi C8 on an 05 plate had it 18 months all fine but noticed ive had to start topping the header tank up more often it is the warning comes on the dash. it takes about 1 litre of water from minimum to max on the header tank, im doing this every 10/14 days. its got worse as time has gone by. Im having it pressure checked next week but theres no leek underneath, or wet anywhere, nothing apparent in the exhuast outlet, the oil is fine nothing brown in there, is this normal for this vehicle? its done 130K miles. I do drive the car quite hard and generally do about 200 miles a week
