  1. Today I managed to get out and fix this problem! After using diagbox to confirm the park signal wasn't working in decided to take the wiper motor out to have a look at the park switch. It turned out to be one of the contacts on the park switch had worn down so wasn't touching any more, a quick bend and all is back and working again for now.
  2. Try 03114 if you mean the code that allows you to change things in the BSI.
  3. Probably something to do with trading standards! It's a shame it pulls to the left now though, it looks like I'll be going back.
  4. I thought about that Paul but not sure if it's a permanent live or switched. If it's permanent it could drain the battery when left for a while. Hopefully soon the bug which is passing through the family will be gone and I can get back out there to have a look.
  5. I'm in kwik fit having the wheels realigned, they know how to spend their customers money!
  6. I did wonder if I was just missing them. I found the trailer ecu plugs on the other side. I'll take the panel off and go plug hunting then. I know I need to take a wire from the reverse lights as retrofit kits don't work on CAN systems but hoped to take the live and earth from the factory plug.
  7. I can't find any plugs in the rear right quarter. There is a bung where the loom goes into the bumper in there but no plugs. I couldn't work out from the diagrams if the ECU is in the actual bumper or not. It would seem daft to put it there, but who knows with citroen. As soon as I've shaken this winter vomiting bug I'll get out there to have a look.
  8. Well the job is done. I dropped the back of the subframe to get it out, it was a bit of a faff but got there in the end. The worst bit was undoing the drivers side track rod end, that alone took an hour. To drop the subframe and remove the rack was easy compared to that. Thanks for your advice, I've refilled the system with LDS which so far seems OK. It felt a bit heavier to start but the real test was when the wife drove it, she said it felt fine but I could've cleaned the steering wheel! Just need it tracked then ready for MOT.
  9. Where does the factory parking sensor ECU go? I'm looking to add a kit and I used the factory plug on my C8 to power it up. I can't find the factory plug on my C5
  10. Also, does anyone know where the factory ecu would go?
  11. I've fitted a parking sensor kit to my 2005 (full CAN) C8 using the original loom to connect up to. It worked a treat so I thought I would have a go at fitting them on my C5 X7 tourer. Has anyone done this? I've found the wiring diagram to identify the wires but can't find the plug that it refers to.
  12. It hits the side of the windscreen on full speed. This problem has only occurred in the last week and both wipers are too high. They work perfectly but park too high.
  13. Thanks for your replies, another job on the list! I'll post again when I find it.
  14. My 2005 C8 has just stopped auto parking the wipers. They stop a few inches up the screen, any ideas what might cause this?
  15. Does anybody know how much fluid you need to replace the rack?
  16. I've just changed both of my DRL bulbs for LED bulbs from eBay. It took me about 20 minutes in the dark on the side of the road and cost less than £20. It's definitely worth doing, the passenger side was the worst one but no dismantling of the front end at all. I can't believe Citroën charge so much for this.
  17. Good point Paul, I'm checking at local garages to see how much I can get it done for. I'm going to ask my MOT place to price it and maybe they can put it through at the same time.
  18. Good link Paul, better than the £30 I was quoted today. I bought some LDS from GSF to keep my system topped up until I change the rack, £15 is a better price but not as good as your find.
  19. Just been into the stealers for a price and they informed me that LDS was being superceded by DA at £30 per litre!
  20. Thanks both of you, I'll be doing this with my dad (he doesn't know yet) so I'll have help, it doesn't look as if the subframe bolts are an issue then. I know on my C8 they shear off when you try to remove the subframe. Hopefully it can be done in a day, I need to get on with it as the MOT runs out on 7th January.
  21. I've bought a 2009 X7 with a leaking steering rack (good price!). I intend to do the change myself, any advice or experience would be most welcome. Does the subframe HAVE to come off completely? Do the subframe mounting bolts shear off like on my C8? Thanks, Richard.
  22. They're all working at the moment, whatever the issue was it's cleared itself for now. I've no idea if or when it will happen again so I'll just have to wait for now.
  23. Not sure about the brake lights working, however I did walk around the back of the car when it had just been started and the high level brake light was on then went off. The problem is that it's so intermittent I'll never know when it will happen.
  24. Also in the ABS section there is fault code C1301 incoherence between the stop lamp switch and the pressure sensor.
  25. I've read the code with diagbox and it came up with P1536 brake contact signal - non coherence between the 2 brake pedal signals. I drove it today with no issues at all, I thought it may be a faulty brake pedal switch as on the journey before the abs fault the cruise control kept pausing.
