  1. Any thoughts, my horn had to be replaced as stopped working prior to last MOT and it went again the other day.
  2. I have the SX so can't make use of any of the in car benefits of the exclusive hence me trying to find a work around. I will get there eventually though. Thank you
  3. I would appear I cannot link my phone to the car to use it hands free, however there are models in the range that allow this, as such is it possible to upgrade the system in order to be able to use it. I remember rendering the Picasso steering wheel controls obsolete by changing the stereo and as such would prefer not to be in the same position again. I would like to have the navidrive system in the car, more for the hands free usage of the phone and the use of voice automation on some systems. However that seems a very difficult thing to achieve, involving remapping of the computers etc. So is there a way to fit perhaps a good quality stereo which would allow me to do the majority of these things whilst keeping the functionality of the fob behind the steering wheel? I am sorry I am still not very good at finding old topics, as I have seen people posting on this but can't seem to find the post again. I will learn to find my way around the forum better in time. Sorry for now my being somewhat annoying. Thank you to everyone though who has put up their solutions to issues, I am slowly trying out the different options I come across.
  4. Thank you, had seen that I think I will go for the ebay one as I have a mac, although I may get a cheap laptop if I am going to keep the car as I will get the lexis tool too.
  5. Replaced due to failing after being left while waiting to fix the split bottle. So it had dried up and needed replacing. Two things happened between the pump going and the new one being replaced. the starter motor issue had resulted in the changing of the fuse plate. Also the starter was replaced. Would too high an amperage fuse off the battery allow to great a load being drawn as you mention? Anyway I will check the pump, however, the garage that fitted it are pretty good on this. They did trace all the wiring for the earth as that was there instinct. I am wondering if it was the wrong fuse off the battery allowing too high an amperage through as you can tell I am aa total novice, but this car is teaching me.
  6. Sorry, fuse keeps blowing.
  7. Faults as I am aware. As above, car in limp mode. Constant hiss from the turbo, this sounds more and more like a split pipe and I need to find out but I am trying to find an english manual to help with looking into these issues. Screen wash pump repeatedly popping the fuse, all wiring appears to be correct and cannot appear to find the cause here. This means that I have no screen wash and that is annoying. Window winders appear to be slowing and in some cases not closing unless being taken to the full open position. If I get these sorted I will report back what was done to remedy the issues.
  8. Thought I would add here issues that have been resolved on this car to date. Starter motor intermittently working and then not, this cost the life of a fuse plate from the battery. Citroen wanted to replace the whole cable and this wasn't going to be cheap. Cut off the fuse plate and replaced it with a mega fuse and required fittings. This included replacing the fuse plate with a standard fitting such as what is used to bolt the earths to the body. One on to the battery clip and one to the wire. The starter motor was replaced and this then put an end to the intermittent fault which also was costing money in replacement fuses.
  9. I had this issue with a 2.2 hdi c8 it took a long time for the garage to listen to me and change the starter as it was returning loads of other fault codes too, which it continues to do. The starter held on to life for a long time, intermittently seeming to come to life then other times dying completely and popping the fuse. I had to replace the fuse plate off the battery as the dying starter popped the fuse due to increased prolonged load as it took ages to start. The starter eventually fully died and then it was replaced, my car now takes a few cycles to get going but it starts it sometimes takes longer to start but not to the point of it being an issue. The other codes do exist but the starter definitely needed replacing from the get go.
  10. Thank you, yes I do have that book so will have a go at it. Reset it to see if any differences were noted but nope.
  11. Hello wonder if anyone can help on this, I have replaced a washer pump now the bus keeps blowing so it is disconnected for now. Anyone had any experience with this problem?
  12. Sorry for my ignorance, where is the BSI unit in the C8 I am a complete novice and just learning as I go. Just want to find the Shunt fuse and see if that makes a difference.
  13. Thanks yes its the 2.2 Hdi 2005 model 88000 miles. I have been looking through those posts. Issue I have is the accessibility of the engine. Need to be able to get under it I think. I had seen this post but hadn't gotten to trying to trying it. I cleaned the Airflow sensor today and will have a look at this solution tomorrow. Thank you
  14. I have been looking in to joining for sometime now I have chosen to join now as I am trying to find answers to help get my car back on the road. Prior to the C8 I had a Xsara Picasso The C8 seemed to be a great buy until things started going wrong :( I was going to cut my losses and just get rid of it but I can't rally afford to do that either so I am stuck with it. When it is back up and running hopefully I can be a happy Citroen owner again. Briefly it is in limp mode and the engine light is not working at all so not sure where to start. Fault code reader doesn't read it, so will need to get the lexia tool I think. That's if I decide to keep it. Faults that I remember being told of were EGR and turbo related.
