I noticed a funny smell the other day, then mrs happy complained that the kitchen sink carrier was wet. Found that both front footwells are soaking wet, NO I have not left the windows open. Then the car started to mist up, demister on full blast it then starts to rain on the inside of the windscreen and water coming out of the footwell vents. Just wondering if anyone had the same thing happen to them. Booked in for a water test will keep you posted on the result.

You have to be joking! What if you buy a car in another country do you get arrested for switching it on? I bet they don't ban the jet engine (a well known fuel efficient and non polluting means of power) there.
-
Yes using cruise control will improve your MPG. Drive your car at 40mph in 5th gear, then switch on cruise control. you will see a drop in the revs. Less revs = better MPG. When in motion all of the cars energy comes from the engine. It is not just air con that effects MPG but anything else you switch on when driving. The alternator and air con compressor take energy from the engine so the engine has to work harder to maintain the cars speed and power lights, radio, windows, air con and anything else I have not thought of. Just running the engine and nothing else is how the official consumption figures are achieved.

It is our god given right to have an opinion, but if you do not have ALL of the facts it is an assumption NOT an opinion. Also we have to learn that at times it shows great wisdom to keep that opinion to ourselves. Leave the guy alone he is going to feel bad enough as it is. Here endeth the the rant.

S**t happens nothing anyone can do about it. Even with many years of experience and the most hi-tech cars even F1 drivers can and do get it wrong. An accident is just that an accident. If you have never had your car slide out of control before then you won't have the experience to control it. Some of us don't drive our cars that badly It has been said in this thread "I have been in accidents none of them my fault". If they are that good why did they not take some action that prevented the accident. I'm with KFK on this one "respect" not only makes a good driver but a good person as well

An MOT Tester cannot issue a pg10. These can only be issued By A Warrant holder working for V.O.S.A . If a police officer issues a pg9 then it will be an immediate prohibition he may give you a exemption to move the car under certain conditions (driving with the windows open) to a place specified by the owner of the vehicle. You MUST make an appointment at a V.O.S.A Test station for it to be checked and a pg10 issued. If you do not make an appointment you will be committing an offence to drive the vehicle on the public roads. A word of warning we can if we feel it is appropriate give the vehicle a FULL examination and if further defects are found vary the terms of the prohibition.

A lot a of the reviews I read on the C4 mentioned the way the steering reacted to bumps and potholes when cornering, so I guess it's normal.

My rant was in the window tint thread. The problem with the visual display on the rear parking sensors has been mentioned in this forum many times, and it appears that owners are being fobbed off with lame excuses or outright lies. If someone has paid for a VTS then they should not be given a lesser car that has been "badged". The brochures are not misleading, the factory is not loading the correct software. Perhaps it should be company policy for us to attend the PDI. I made a point not to get personal Because it may be your customers don't have the problems that some of us are having. But you decided to take a single line from the thread and make fun of it. Now what could I have done with that. Must go i've just heard that that Ikea have just had a delivery of lives and I really need to get one

It is that sort attitude that sums up my experience of citroen customer service. Having spent what is a lot of money to most of us we expect the functions we have paid for to be working when we take delivery, not have to keep chasing the dealers to get them enabled. As the point of contact to the customer the technicians should be bringing these problems to the attention of Citroen and making sure the pdi is carried out correctly. I am starting to wonder if the dealers are making to much profit from the warranty work to care about the problems their customer are having.

Reading about the problems some people are having I thought it would good idea to give people a chance to name the good dealerships. Please remeber that your comments could bring action in the courts. so lets hear about the good guys in this thread.

It has nothing to do with the type of car or the type of person driving it. the fact is that the police resources are stretched to the limit and are targeted by goverment policy. Just because a someone breaks into 200 houses without being caught does not make it right for them to carry on doing it. Window tints that reduce light transmission by more than 30% are illegal and dangerous.

VTS/Exclusive are fitted with rear parking sensors with audible and visual warnings as STANDARD. Front sensors are an option. The indexable passenger mirror is only availble on the hatchback. Don't waste your time or money phoning Citroen technical because they won't talk to you, they will only talk to the dealers. Why do we need a software update to enable a function that we pay for when we buy the car.

http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/publications/t...information.pdf This link may help.

http://www.citroen.co.uk/uploadpool/docume...Spec_June06.pdf If you follow the link and go to page six bottom right hand corner of the page. clearly shows that the vts/exclusive come with audible/visual rear parking sensors as standard. Now get the technical spec brochure from the showroom and take it to the service manager, ask if they have the new diagnostic computer if the answer is no then you are wasting your time. Find a dealer that has one.

1st Disappointment With Citroen & Navidrive (rt3)

How much did you have to pay for it. -
Just turned 50 halfway through my second one.

As I said poor training by Citroen, both sales and tech. As to the point of after market additions it does not apply to this thread. the common gripe is we are being lied to, if the build spec states something is fitted as standard then it should be enabled at the factory. My cd changer had a mod done which makes it jump when I apply the handbrake. I was told that it had gone out of sync and it needed to be reprogrammed b*****ks. The service department had done something wrong but wont admit it. My visual display for the parking sensors could not be enabled without diagnostic computer yet the dealer had back 5 times before it was enabled. Why didn't they just tell me the truth that they didn't have one Most people can accept being told "very sorry but we don't know the answer but we will find out and get back to you". "There all like that or its not fitted to your car, even when the manual says it is, is not acceptable.

The factory are loading the wrong software or not enabing functions. The useless dealerships are not carrying out the P.D.I correctly. This is either poor training by Citroen or the dealers don't care because they have got your money. Don't waste your time phoning Citroen UK as they care even less than the dealers.

11 Months to get mine working , I was told the factory loaded old software version. Make sure your dealer has the latest diagnostic system or they will just keep the car for a couple of days then tell you there all like that :(

1st Disappointment With Citroen & Navidrive (rt3)
evilone replied to lee_marshuk's topic in C4 - Technical
WHY??? Where??? Salesman knew nothing about navidrive, phoned dealers around the country no one I spoke had seen a navidrive system. searched the net for reviews of the C4, even Mr Clarkson said good things about it.Alternatives were Mazda 6 or Primera T-spec. Went for C4 on price. -
1st Disappointment With Citroen & Navidrive (rt3)
evilone replied to lee_marshuk's topic in C4 - Technical
As with the post that started this thread poor information at the point of sale causes problems. In my case the saleman and citroen uk could not provide me with details on the navidrive, take a look at citroen.com under technologies and it clearly states 6 cd stacker.I would still have bought it if I was told it was a 5 cd stack. I have never gone back to the dealer who sold me the car, it took the dealer I use now 10 months to get the visual display on the parking sensors working, 6 months to sort out the cd changer jumping when you used the armrest and I cannot find anywhere that tells me it has a space-saver spare wheel. I have had enough of citroen uk being unhelpful and telling me talk to my dealer and my dealer telling me they need to speak citroen and they will call me back then not calling me. Love the car hate the company. I will never buy a citroen again. -
Not easy to tell from the photo. Have you told your insurance company? We all know they look for any excuse to not pay out.
