Guest nez Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I have an '03 2.0 HDi LX estate (110bhp) that has an issue with the passenger side front door lock (surprise!!). It will lock off the blipper but will not unlock. The solenoid seems to be working but just doesn't have enough oomph to tip it enough to unlock. Is there an easy fix for this or is a new lock assembly required? I've checked with a dealer and the part in question is 9135J2 coming in at ninety something quid plus VAT. Obviously keen to avoid unnecessary expense for something that is almost working! Quote
Randombloke Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Search the forum, Coastline has already posted the solution, it was something along the lines of take the door interior off and do some WD40 action. I have the same fault intermittently and intend to do the same when the weather warms up. Quote

I did have a trawl through the forum for possible solutions and have already tried that method without success I'm afraid. We had the thing swimming in WD40 and it made no difference. Quote
coastline taxis Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 use the straw that comes with the wd40 and insert it into the lock from the outside. give it loads of wd over a couple of hours the use the key to open and close it via the pass side Quote
