Guest paul.driscoll2 Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Hi, I'm new to the whole Citroen experience, in fact driving as a whole is pretty new to me. Can anyone help out and answer the question, i've recently got some genuine Citroen coolent concentrate and I need to top up my levels as its getting close to the min mark. Any ideas what ratio I should use with water or distilled water ? Thanks, Paul Driscoll. Quote
paul.h Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 For a normal ethylene glycol coolant, these days about 50% strength is frequently recommended although 30 years ago 25 to 33% may have been normal. First check that the coolant you have is not prediluted. Tap water is usually used, distilled water would only be used in a battery. Have a look round for a leak since the level should not be going down. Quote
Guest tomt Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Hi Paul, tomt here. How long have you owned your c3 Airdream? I too have an airdream and i was interested in your opinion on it. tomt. Quote

Hi tomt, Possibly not the best place to reply to ur question but would also like to say thanks 2 the reply on my question around coolant. So my 1.6 airdream... Out of the huge number of cars I have driven... <7 the air dream is a good car... The bad points are the insane bouncy suspension... Not too bad for the state of the uk roads at the moment, plus my reversing sensor is on the blink... Good points the screen visodrive is really the centre piece of the whole car... It's the bit that folks get is and go whoa.... Driving down to cornwall recently, I've never able to appreciate just some of the beautiful countryside we have in the uk. It's really magic, not sure when I get my first chip on the screen. Another fantastic point is the economy wow.... 65mpg & I'm not a slow driver. Speially with escalating petrol costs... 4/5 outta 5 Quote

Guest tomt Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Hi Paul, its funny but I have owned my Airdream for just 6 months as well. Do you find you go into smug mode each time they announce a price rise on fuel? My Airdream informed me the other day that I had achieved 80.1 to the gallon! Is your Airdream a petrol or diesel? tomt. Quote

I tend too but the price of diesel is creeping up.. and mine is a diesel... i'm still looking for that magic speed to achieve decent MPG Now if only I could find a car that has low insurance as well... the main feature with the airdream seems to be the visio-drive windscreen... I've been out driving in the country and its something else... everyone remarks when they get in... Quote
Guest tomt Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Yes, I am reserving the visio-drive windscreen for the better months so that when i draw back the cover I will get the wow! factor. I am also impressed with the pulling power of that 1.6 engine. tomt. Quote
