Cracked Manifold

Hi this is my first time on here, and wondered if anyone could give me some advice on what to do and where to go regarding a cracked exhaust manifold for my 1.6 picasso 2001 plate. I have contacted a local exhaust repair centre who informed me that they do not replace manifolds anymore but will weld the crack!! I only wanted a quote but now am really stuck as to know what to do for the best...any ideas please...Mandi x

I would compare the cost of a new or welded manifold and the guarantee you get and base it on that. Also consider how long you will keep the car. Also ask why the manifold has failed, it could be something like an engine mounting or exhaust mounting that needs replacing.
