Guest John in Oz Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Having owned a C4 since 2006, I've just upgraded to a C5 Exclusive 2.0. I love it to bits, but it does have one small design flaw carried over from the C4. The centre storage compartment (under the central dash display - but not present if you have SatNav) will rarely open when pushed. The C4 had exactly the same problem, to the extent that I could never leave anything in there incase I couldn't remove it. Just this morning my wife had to drive to my office so that I could help her get a parking pass out of the compartment. I'm pretty sure this isn't the german-rivalling build quality that Citroen were aiming for. So do most second-gen C5's do this? And is there a cure, or do I just stop using the compartment? Many thanks. Quote
Guest John in Oz Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 So no one out there has a centre console storage compartment door that gets stuck? Really? Come on! You know - it's that wide door under the central dash display... the one where you push it to open... and it doesn't. Surely most second generation C5 owners experience this? Or is it just Australian versions (I live in Sydney)? Quote
paul.h Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Just had a look at the one on our C4 above the radio. We do not use it so it opened without any problem but it does not seem to be easily removable to allow it to be cleaned up. I could only guess that something like WD40 sprayed in to the moving bits at the sides may help lubricate and clean it. Have a look on the C4owners.org forum to see if there are any posts there. Guest John in Oz Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Cheers for the tips. I'll investigate it more closely, watching out for those spiders of course. Quote
