Nasty_Pasty Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Hi all, hope someone can help. We have a C3 sensodrive 04. The audible warning keeps hassling us. A series of 3 beeps keeps warning us that something is wrong. Occasionally we can drive for many miles and nothing, but other times it can be constantly there. Sometimes you just hear it a couple of times. Citroen main dealers had it for half a day and reinstalled the gearbox software, but a couple of miles up the road it started beeping again. The diagnostics equipment doesn't come up with any fault code. We believe then, as it is an intermittent fault, it's most probably the door loom wiring that's the culprit. But I really don't fancy getting too involved with it and not find anything. Which is why I'm posting this in this forum, anybody have any ideas or advice? Is this a common fault, i've googled around a bit but not found anything much - although I have just read about someone who disconnected the battery and that worked, so trying that out now hoping that will reset or clear a fault. Failing that, anybody know how I can disconnect the audible warning? It really is driving us mad. Quote
kfk Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Any warning messages coming up? I assume its not the speed warning device thats been turned on?......does it only do it at a specific speed?........maybe faster than the country roads of cornwall?.....just a thought Quote

Johndouglas Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 How about the handbrake? Maybe it gets onto the first notch. Quote
Nasty_Pasty Posted May 11, 2011 Author Posted May 11, 2011 How about the handbrake? Maybe it gets onto the first notch. Hi John, Thanks for the reply. Every time it beeps, the first thing I do is wiggle the handbrake up and down, then reinsert the seat belt, and if it's safe to do so, open and close the drivers door, but it still beeps. I did read on another forum that someone who was experiencing the same problems, disconnected the battery to try and clear any faults. Alas, it didn't work for us, in fact I left it disconnected for 2 days but last night we went out for a drive, and it beeped at us pretty much constantly. :( If I get chance at the weekend I'll check for frayed wires in the doors, unless anyone's got any better ideas? I feel like getting half a dozen cans of expanding foam and squirting it inside the dash to muffle the noise. If anyone knows how to disconnect the sounder, we would be delighted to know!! Quote
Nasty_Pasty Posted May 12, 2011 Author Posted May 12, 2011 Just to add even more info; The cold weather indicator occasionally flashes on the dash now? Yet it's about 15C today??? Quote
kfk Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 cold weather indicator?.......are you taking about the 'snow flake' symbol, or the area on the dash where the temperature is normally displayed comes up as 3 dashes? If its the latter displaying the temperature as freezing will cause a bleep. if its the snowflake symbol, thats a gearbox fault and nothing to do with temperature Quote

Is this a common fault with the gearbox then? Can it be rectified by my local garage or is it a main dealer only fix? Will this fault cause the beeping, or do I have two faults now? Quote
kfk Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Snowflake coming up and bleep is the method used to indicate gearbox faults on the senso drive, he only other time you will see it is if you request the vehicle to operate in snow mode in which case it forces the vehicle to use 2nd gear as its lowest gear (ideal in snow). Unfortunately, i think you need to put pen and papr in car and make notes on when, what gear, speed, uphill, downhill, turning left or right, weather...etc........as much info as possible so you might be in a position to demonstrate the problem to someone or give us a bit more info would also be useful to know if it wont change above third when it happens. Any one else with any suggesions? Quote
