I have owned my 2010 C5 2 ltr Exclusive estate from new the engine has never ran quite or smooth on tick-over it has been back to the dealers more times than I care to think about. A new Injector was fitted after the first month each time it goes in they fit a new part and update the software. It is better now but one problem still remains. On occasion when I stop at lights or junction the engine runs OK for a second then flutters ( as if something in the diesel) for a couple of seconds then ticks over OK this seems to happen more if the car has been ran for short trips i.e. shopping trips. No faults show up on the computer. Any help would be gratefully accepted and passed on to the dealer as the car is under warranty.

The dealer has done diagnostic and nothing shows up (or this is what I am told) I have had various parts fitted over the years to try and solve this and the fact that the engine was very noisy on tick-over. these include a fuse box and an air intake valve. I have not always seen the logic in what was replaced but am at the mercy of the dealer.

A fault like that i would have the scan gear in the car have data stream parameters up say ..........

fuel rail pressure

drv or flow regulator

dozer valve duty cycle

egr control , duty

drive the car and watch what these parameters do in the condition when the car does the fault, its a 2 man job really when out on test drive.......dealer wont give you that takes to much time and men off there jobs of servicing and making them money .
