m4rksc Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Hi everyone! I need some help. Ive got a 2001 citroen c5 2.2hdi. The car run perfectly until one day I parked it up and when i returned to it 2 weeks later it wouldnt start. Its never started since? ive checked the fuel supply as far as the high pressure pump and its there. the in tank pump runs when ignition switched on and it pumps to the high pressure pump. I carefully cracked an injector when cranking. I am aware of the dangers of doing this. but there seems to be nothing squirting out, is this normal?? any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! kfk Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 For the high presure pump to work the pulley needs to rotate when cranking the engine......is it.....is the cambelt ok? Last time you used the vehicle did you refill with fuel?......did you put diesel in?.....not a silly question.....but a basic check that might save you a lot of money if you have made a mistake. Is the battery in good condition? How long since it was running? Quote

Hi, yes the car is half full and it is definatly diesel. and the intank pump is feeding the high pressure pump with diesel. and as far as the cambelt goes its ok as the car will run on a bit of easy start which i used briefly to try and start it. the batterys fully charged and spins the engine quickly. the fuel filter is fine and i havnt found any signs of metal filings. its not run now for about a month, month and half? thanks Quote
coastline taxis Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Post what area your in as you might get a free bit of diagnostic help. If not then youl need to the car plugged in and see what presure the pump is at when your cranking the engine. What milage is on the car. Just a daft one but have you checked the fuel filter other faults weve come acros for none starting ( with no fuel getting through)are fuel presure regulator or the wiring to it also injectors Quote
