whitek03 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I appreciate this post is a number of years old now, but thanks all for doing all the legwork. guysI too have an issue only with the drivers side blowing cold.UK owner, car is RHD, on a 56 plate, temperature is now in the 2-10C range and my feet are freezing by the time I drive to work.Passenger side is fine when flipping the air up to the window, in your face or down at your feet and does vary temperature and fan speed.Driver side never really does anything except blow what I would imagine is outside/ambient air at a low rate. So, unless someone says otherwise I am looking at pulling apart the drivers side lower console to get up at the 2 x motors to a: check they work b: confirm if the spindles have split.Where can I hire a contortionist to get in at these things lol :-) Quote
paul.h Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Welcome to the forum. In the Car Mechanics May 2015 issue there is a detailed article removing and replacing the broken spindles in a C5 with lots of photos. It involves removing the air con heating system from the car so is a big job but it is worth getting a copy of the magazine. Also have a look at the C5 Technical section Common Problems pinned topic for this problem. Quote
