No Audible Alarms On C3

I wonder if anyone can shed any light on why I have no audible beeps when the indicators are turned on or when my lights are left on when I take my keys out?

It was working when I first had the car but I was wondering if I've turned something off by accident.

I am not aware of anything that lets you turn the beeps off on our car (2003) and can not remember anything in the handbook.
