rod1296 Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 I've recently bought a 99 Xantia that used to have a multi changer in but not any more. So I bought a Citroen Stereo cassette in mint condition off e bay. Everything works fine but I can't get it to work with the steering wheel controls. Am I missing something? Obviously I've connected it all up correctly I think and there is a seperate connecter etc. in there for these controls. Quote
DickieG Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 I don't think Citroen ever did a CD player which was compatable with Xantia's other than the multichangers, so whilst you can get the CD player to work, I think you'll have to do without the steering wheel controls. Another way around the problem is to get (I think Sony make one) a CD player for which you can get a special lead which connects up with the steering controls. Quote

In the rear of the radio you should have the following connections: 8 way black connector (with 4 wires in) powers supplies and earth 8 way white connector - all your speaker connections 10 way black connector - this is the connector for the steering wheel 13 way black connector - if there its used for multiplay cd player Early Xantias had different radio units in to the later facelift models.....if you use an early radio in a facelift model the steering controls wont work. Hope some of that helps you Quote

The black 8 way connector: pin 4: constant 12v supply +vepin 7 : ignition fed 12v +vePin 6 : supply from lights via instrument panel dimmer switchPin 8 : Earth Quote
jimbo Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Its ok i found the light supply in the power block with a circuit tester but have supply but no lighting so assume the lights within radio are not working, now wondering wether a new faceplate from a scrapper will reinstate my lighting. Quote
