Stu63 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 As title....I just had emaps out and he didnt get any reading from the plug behind the glovebox, and couldnt do it  Obviously apart from not being to get it done (well unless the ecu's removed and done that way) no one's going to be able to get fault codes ect....this is major pita!!.. Then I thought about this... As I was getting it mapped to about 135-40hp and 300ish nm.....this should fit in and work and should be the same hp ect as mine after a map, or maybe the 160hp as it's the 2.2. Only thing is, if I got fault codes ect after fitting, I still would get them as my socket's buggeed.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-C5-2-2-HDI-COMPLETE-LOCK-SET-AND-ECU-BSI-01-04-/250868143131?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Safety_Security&hash=item3a68e8141b Quote
mechcanico lee Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Hello dont dispair !!! did the machine he used power up at all ? if not the live or earth will be missing from the 16 pin obd connector , it will probably be a blown fuse ......not sure which one but just go through all fuses the ones underbonnet and inside the car . paul.h Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 This is copied from a post by coastline taxis, saying fuse failure is common. 'as you look at the obd port the fuse is to the left on the bsi unit 3rd or 4th from the right' Quote

No it didnt, nothing at all, he then put his laptop on to try do it that way, that didnt "recognise" the car ect either, he then checked the fuses next to the socket and all were fine, I didnt know (and obviously neither did he) know about fuses under the bonnet. This is copied from a post by coastline taxis, saying fuse failure is common. 'as you look at the obd port the fuse is to the left on the bsi unit 3rd or 4th from the right' Is this the fuses that are in front of the socket lying flat....if so, that's the ones he checked and all were fine as all other electrics work ok Quote
Stu63 Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 I've just checked all fuses in the glovebox inc the number 18 10amp diag socket fuse and under the bonnet...all are fine.....I dont know why that socket's not working!. Only thing it could maybe now is a broke wire somewhere, and that's a job for an autospark which could take 5 mins or 5 days! Quote
Stu63 Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 Does anyone know what this might be, before I either sell or take it to an autospark Quote
Stu63 Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 I guess not....where's all the electrics whizz kids on here Quote
paul.h Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I would try a direct message to Steve at coastline taxis or give them a call, from memory they are based in South Shields.A google search gave this as the contact info. mechcanico lee Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 My link This is the pin configuration , its pin 4 and 16 that power up the scan tool, its these pins you need to test , if the 12 volts or earth is missing you could always substitute them by adding 12v or earth to the socket from another source. If your not really clued up on the electrics let a spark look at it , if you back feed one of these pins you could do damage to modules or die or worse. hope this helps . Quote
Stu63 Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 Thanks Paul and lee.....I got an autospark out and it ended up to a half off its mount block connector at the back of the fuse box Quote
