devilish Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Hello all I have a bit of an issue with a C5 I have just bought. Its a 2006 LX newer shape and has the basic CD/radio system. Problem is I cant disable RDS on the radio so its keeps jumping stations.I have pressed menu gone in and made RDS inactive and pressed OK and RDS goes off but it comes baack on itself if I change radio station or turn car ignition off . Any ideas I also seem to get a series of beeps from the radio when turning ignition on? bit stuck. Quote
mechcanico lee Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Bit of a guess this...... but could it have lost its permanent 12v supply ? i you preset some stations are they being lost when you switch the car off . Quote
devilish Posted January 24, 2012 Author Posted January 24, 2012 No the stations are being retained but RDS wont stay off. The manual is useless as its about 100 pages of the top sat nav model and half a page on my radio Quote
coastline taxis Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 try switching the af (auto find) off as this will automaticly keep tuning in the stations with the strongest signals wich are mostly stations with rds Quote
seefive Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 try switching the af (auto find) off as this will automaticly keep tuning in the stations with the strongest signals wich are mostly stations with rds It's not RDS which controls the auto-tune. It's either AF, as Coastline says, or possibly REG(ional) needs to be off. Quote
DaveHerns Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Is the aerial OK ? Is it getting a weak signal so then seeking a stronger one ? I saw some of those radios on Ebay the other day for £45 coded to suit your car Quote
