Hi. Took my 2007 C3 1.6 hdi for it's MOT. It's failed due to too much play in the passenger side anti roll bar linkage. It's going back to the garage on Saturday to be repaired. Both anti roll bar linkages were replaced at 72000 miles, approximately 30000 miles ago (my car has now done 102000 miles). What causes them to go? Is it something that can be prevented somehow?

Had to replace ours at 36k miles (7 years). The passenger side one was badly worn but was a MOT advisory and had been making a knocking noise for some time. Cost of parts was £29 each side so not excessive from a dealer and did not take me long to fit so any labour charge will not be much. I think the socket in the joints is plastic so not likely to last too long.
