Hi, I know I am not the only one to have trouble with central locking on my C3, but any help would be appreciated.

Briefly,it seems to work fine if you stop, get out and lock it. It then will unlock within about 10 minutes but not thereafter.

Entering using the key in the drivers door will then enable the unlocking from the remote button. It then works fine again for a few minutes. The key's battery has been replaced and re programmed in the ignition.

The car's 12v battery is not new but starts the engine first go in the frosts,so I am reluctant to replace that.

Thanks.

You have probably read other posts on locking problems and things to check include are phone/radio masts nearby, mobile phone in use, are the doors fully shut, does it happen in more than one location. You could try a dealer check and one poster ended up replacing the comms unit but in this case the car was not starting. Changing our car battery did not make a difference to our C3, it still occasionally does not lock or unlock with the remote but we just live with it.

Hi, thanks for that.

I just had to announce the good news that I have FIXED THE PROBLEM !!!!!!

Whilst stumbling through the posts on central locking problems, one in particular caught my eye. It seems that Citroen had scanned the system and announced that the new radio recently fitted was incompatible with the main computer and the owner had removed it. Hey presto! Fault gone!!

I tried it and the locking now works as it should. It is an easy thing to try. And I still dont believe it.

Good luck,

Patt.
