citrophile Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Hi All I am getting an anti-pollution warning and the engine is running quite rough (in the old days when cars had points etc it would have been called a misfire!) and now today I am getting no power at all and it struggles to go uphill. Looking at posts on here there are suggestions for lots of things and I have changed the EGR valve which made no differecnce and now need to try something else. Coult it be the swirl valve or vacuum system. If so, where do i find these on the 2.0 HDI? I have a Haynes but I am not finding it that useful. Thanks Rob Quote
Johndouglas Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Could be expensive to start swopping parts to try to hit on a cure. Better to get it on a Lexia. Quote
citrophile Posted July 27, 2012 Author Posted July 27, 2012 Fortunately i have a donor car which was mechanically spot on so i am using it for changing the various bits. Quote
coastline taxis Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 That old saying springs to mind about leading a horse to water. just get it pluged in or youl spend the next 10 years swapping parts over till you find the bit at fault Quote
ukwide Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I'd listen to Coastline and heed his advice. I had a similar thing and it was a simple fix, change the fuel filter and all was okay.............. Quote
