scimitargtc Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Ok, thanks for replies re auto gear chnage quality - I'm going to ask dealer to recalibrate, also found out the DVLA has the car reg'd as 109g CO with a 6 month tax fee of £0 but an annual fee of £20!!!whereas it actually has 98g - 'tax disc' shows £nil to there's a DVLA glitch there then! By to today's question - spent a good 30 seconds last night trying to find the ignition key hole in the dark and judging when I've looked at it today in daylight so have others if the surface scratches to the outer metal rim as anything to go by - car of this class/price thought it would be illuminated - there is indeed what appears to be an led on the barrel surround - anyone have 1 and that works before I go 'off on one' and add it the 'new car sort it out' list? paul.h Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Just had a look at ours - what looks like the LED is a hole which may possibly be for insertion of a tool. The key shape takes a lot of getting used to, for some reason Citroen has redesigned the key to be at right angles to all other cars ever built. If you hold it flat in your hand it is a bit easier to put in the barrel and we have considered getting a key ring with a torch for nights but the key on its own is bulky enough. Quote
scimitargtc Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 Your'e right of course - just had a poke with a small screwdriver and it is a small insertion hole for something-- THANKS Quote
scott2121210 Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 (edited) I know this post is very old but I was thinking exactly the same...that there was a little LED light but having took it to Citroen today I discovered it's nothing of the sort. Bit disappointed to say the least because my old 2008 C4 had a light. Nevermind, I will struggle on in the dark scratching more and more as I go. Edited January 25, 2017 by scott2121210 Quote
scott2121210 Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 (edited) Having given it a further thought I wonder if there might be something like a stick on luminescent ring that might light up the area?? Edited January 25, 2017 by scott2121210 Quote
paul.h Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 welcome to the forum. We never bothered getting a key ring torch and found that we got used to the key shape and locating the ignition switch although it is not ideal. We replaced the 2011 C4 with a 2015 C4 and the ignition switch and key are still the same design. Quote
scott2121210 Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Cheers Paul.h. I'm sure I will get used to it...eventually 😀 Quote
