johnl Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Hi All As its been getting colder I have been using the heater... obvious really I suppose. I do have a problem with it though. The selector seems to be spring loaded so you set in on warm and the selector will spring to another setting you can feel the spring resistance on the selector. Is this a common problem and is it an easy fix ? Thanks John Quote
paul.h Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Only problem with our heater controls is the slide to set the air flow from outside to internal air circulation - this would sometimes seem to stick and the slide button not move. I could reach under the dash and rotate the duct by hand (above driver's feet) and could not find anything to make it stick. The manual temperature and air distribution controls are by cables so you could look under the dash and follow them to the various flap levers and see if something is not right. Maybe there is a fault with the cable. Quote
johnl Posted December 5, 2012 Author Posted December 5, 2012 Hi Paul Thanks for the reply yes it does feel like a twisted cable or a kink producing the spring effect. The air recirculation slider seems to work fine no problems. I will have a look to see what I can find John Quote
johnl Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 Hi Paul I have been looking at the heater controls and the temperature selector has a tendancy to flip to either cold or hot settings. I applied lube which increased the problem. It only happens when the blower motor is on settings 3 or 4 and feels like you are turning against the airflow. TBH I think now that the lube has shown the problem up more. A solution would be to actually make the control "stickier" if that makes sense, otherwise excellent car. Thanks John Quote
