Justated Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Hello All What should I be looking for -- in terms of potential faults / issues -- ps have insisted on dealer completing 20 k service Would be interested in learning of your experiences Quote
qman3428 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Mine is a 2009, so I assume the recalls will have hit the production run by the time yours was made. I believe there was a wiper motor recall for some 2011 models and you need to be aware that you cant just disconnect the battery, there is a procedure to follow. Mine now has 92k on the clock and I am getting some issues but nothing for the first 85k, also look up the DPF if you intend to keep the car for high mileage Quote
paul.h Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 (edited) If it is a C5, it appears to be a reliable car by the lack of posts on the C5 subforum. So just make sure everything works and being an exclusive, the suspension goes up and down and the electric handbrake is ok.For a workshop manual, the only option is a Citroen one on dvd from such as ebay which will also include the parts diagrams. There is a French RTA ETAI one but that does not cover the 160hp engine - available from Amazon UK or French sites. The parts can also be seen if you register on the service.citroen.com site plus if you pay, the workshop manual bits can be seen but I have not tried this. Also on this site you can see the Characteristics of your car using the vin and see what is fitted - some of the posts have been about the lack of parking sensors so these may now be an option. Fuzzybrush Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Please note that a private user can no longer register with service.citroen.com. They are however putting a domain together for us private owners. Quote
paul.h Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Unless the terms and conditions have changed recently, a member of a car club such as this one is/was allowed to register on service.citroen Quote
Fuzzybrush Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Hi Paul.h, today I tried to register and there is no option for car club members only motor trade professionals or emergency services. Private Customers are refused registration and are now informed the site is exclusively for professionals Quote
Fuzzybrush Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Gone back to the site. Selected Other professionals and under the company name used 'Citroen Owners Club' and it does give you an account number :-) Quote
paul.h Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 (edited) Just had a look at the site, it has been changed recently and the terms and conditions are not obviously there but from the Help page for registering it gives the options as You have to choose from the 3 profiles on offer : 1.Auto-repairer professional if your profession is that of auto repairs2.Other auto professional if your profession relates to autos, but you are not a repairer ( e.g. equipment supplier ). 3.Other professional if your profession is not in autos, but you need to access the services in our Internet site ( e.g. students, agencies, big fleets ). So the car club as you have found must be covered by 3. Edited March 14, 2013 by paul.h Quote
