skulcolectorsjg Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 just brought a c5 hdi 2001, loving it, what nice comfy ride, my only gripe is the drivers interior door handle has snapped(previous owner) i cant afford to get a replacement at the minute, just wondered if the drivers rear passenger one will fit or is it a different fitment, any ideas or help is very much appreciated thank you. paul.h Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 The part nos for front and back are different but whether just the handle bit is the same and could be removed is hard to tell from the parts diagrams (these are on service.citroen.com if you register - terms allow as a member of a car club). There are some on ebay for £20 to £30. I have no idea of the new price from a dealer. Quote
skulcolectorsjg Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 Saw them on ebay, going to get one when i can, but think for now i'll try getting just the handle bit swapped over, i never thought about just that, i was going to change whole part. So thanks for the idea. Quote
skulcolectorsjg Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 It fits, got the whole mechinism swapped over, tiny addaption need thats it. :-D Quote
ashcoe Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Same happened to both my front handles. swapped them from the rear. Just had to cut away a thumbnail size bit of plastic with a Stanley knife. BE CAREFUL its tough plastic! Quote
henshaw Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 My driver's side interior handle has just snapped. How do you get at the remains of the handle to remove it? I've removed the screw and rubber plug that is behind the handle but nothing wants to move. I don't want to use any force yet as I don't want to break anything else. Any suggestions please. Quote
paul.h Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 According to Haynes, you have to remove the door card first, then the handle assembly lifts off upwards and the operating rods can be removed. Quote
