Thanks Johnl What model/petrol/diesel?......is the exhaust manifold? or the downpipe? Quote
johnl Posted May 15, 2006 Author Posted May 15, 2006 Hi KFK Its a 1600 petrol model M reg so doesn`t have a catalytic converter. I think its the downpipes as they have to remove some springs to get the section off. I also replaced the brake discs, on the front, about 2 years ago and they have warped is this normal even with pattern replacement parts ? Thanks Johnl Quote
Johndouglas Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I think they're spinning you a yarn. Why would the rocker cover have to come off? Even if it had to - it's no big deal! Haven't seen a petrol system but I used to have a diesel. The front pipe was connected to the exhaust manifold by spring-loaded bolts on a flange, and the job was done from underneath. I would take the car to an exhaust centre for a 2nd opinion. Brake discs would only warp if they had been very much over-heated. Are both front brakes releasing properly? Quote
johnl Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 Hi Johnd Yes both brakes release properly but it felt like abs ie juddering. The front pipe needed to have some weldind done on it near the cat. Its an m reg and I didn`t even know it had a cat in the first place. Quote
