coastline taxis Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 think it would be better to stick to total lds fluid because if there wrong they wont pay to replace the parts that the wrong fluid will kill Quote
darkar26 Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 THANX FOR THE REPLY,IM GOING BACK TO THEM IN THE MORNING TO TELL THEM THEY CAN PAY TO HAVE THE SYSTEM DRAINED AND THEN REFILLED WITH THE CORRECT FLUID. Quote
Johndouglas Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 ,IM GOING BACK TO THEM IN THE MORNING TO TELL THEM THEY CAN PAY TO HAVE THE SYSTEM DRAINEDI should! What they've given you is power steering fluid. What you want is Total LDShttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1L-Central-Hydraulic-Oil-LDS-Fluid-CITROEN-C5-01-/360528880880?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item53f13224f0 Quote
dawn Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Hi can any one please help and advise.we have found a oil leak around the hydraulic reservoir...not sure where it is from. Very clean oil. On the reservoir it tells you to not open as it is pressurised?? Can it be opened or does it need to go to dealer as stated?? Quote
Johndouglas Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 It would help to know what car we're talking about. Some Citroens use LDS hydraulic fluid and others use LHM. Tell us the model. Quote
Johndouglas Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 it a c5 exclusive 2008OK - you use Total LDS. I would suggest that you clean off all the leakage so that you can pinpoint where it's coming from. Yes - you can remove the cap but there is some pressure within the tank - or should be. Maybe if yours is damaged there won't be any. Before you remove the cap, you must start the engine and put the suspension to its lowest level, then stop the engine and slowly remove the cap. Only top up with Total LDS fluid. Anything else and you will do damage to the system. Clean the outside of the tank and see if you can see the leak. It may be on a seam. Quote
