dave crew Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Hi all, new to the club, please be gentle.I have a 2004 2.0 C8.My gear lever is really hard to shift, especially into reverse. It had a clutch change about a year ago (same time as the engine changeout (long story)).It's supposed to be the wife's car, but she won't drive it now because or the gear change difficuly.Any suggestions? paul.h Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Welcome to the forum. It may be the ball joints at both ends of the gear change cables need greasing or the cables may be due for replacement. Quote
dave crew Posted August 30, 2013 Author Posted August 30, 2013 Many thanks for the prompt response Paul.Is the clutch adjustable? Cheers Dave Quote
paul.h Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 The clutch is hydraulic rather than a cable so it will not be adjustable. If the gear lever is stiff when the engine is not running, it should not be anything to do with the clutch. Quote
