I am desperate for some advice please-

But first a quick hello my name is TEZ  I'm from the north east Tyne & Wear and I own a C3 1.4 diesel 03 plate.

Help needed my car has been great owned it for 3 yrs  but it has developed a fault which I will try to explain in the hope of some help from you guys and gals

whilst driving it cuts out, it feels as if the ignition has been turned off, it always starts straight up and it usually drives as normal this has happened a few times sometimes re-occuring a couple of times in a row had it connected to a garage code reader but reads no codes shown, been driving a good few weeks now with no issues then pulled off my drive into the middle of the road and it cut out again, as normal it started straight up but when i tried to drive  it cut off every time I applied a slight rev always restarted immediately but soon as I tried to raise the revs it cut off, I pushed it back into my drive after several attempts went out 45 minutes later and started and drove as normal, had it back on code reader again it shows no codes,  have checked the earth connection as a start but where do I go now.

I have not got the funds to leave it in the garage in order for them to LOOK AT IT !! and I hoped maybe someone on this forum had come across this fault, Any ideas people

Welcome to the forum.

When it cuts out are there any other things noticed such as the clock needs resetting ?

A fault like this could be anything and since it is not giving the engine management light it probably will not give any fault codes. To do a diagnostic check for a faulty component it would most likely need connecting to a dealer Lexia. It could well be electrical so things you can check are the battery connections are tight, all the earth connections, connections to all the components, all the wiring for any damage/rubbing - possibly with the engine running and somebody using the accelerator pedal to see if it cuts out, the ignition switch connection, try the spare key in case it is the immobiliser but this would not check the car side, check the immobiliser transponder (pick up) at the ignition switch, check all the fuses are fully in place, make sure you do not have lots of other keys hanging on the car key which could cause it to move slightly (read this somewhere once), maybe the accelerator pedal needs replacing - some are electrical and the electrical bits can wear out and on our 1.4 petrol after about 25k miles it is difficult to control the engine at low revs and is due for its second replacement (approx £60) - to check this with the engine running slowly increase the revs from idling and see it they can be increased gradually.

Cheers Paul, I will try and work my way through your list, as for the clock never had to reset, the pedal operates fine the revs are steady all the way and totally controllable, battery connections good, checked the earth on top of gearbox all appears good, changed the key as suggested and yes I did have a bunch hanging from barrel !!  tried to push home all the fuses etc

should maybe mention it has 98K miles on

Any other suggestions from all other sources will be gratefully received and acted upon

all the best   TEZ
