2012 eHDi EGS - now used to relying on company Astra's FRONT and rear sensors want to add to wifey's C4 - always used to go out an buy aftermarket kits even with recent cars latest being 2008 BUT with the C4 CANBUS wiring don't believe splicing into the brake light 'loom' will be a good idea if experience of hard wiring a GSM pager into the battery is anything to go by --- direct connection to the earth on the fuse board above the battery, and direct connection to the battery positive 'bar' on the front of the battery cover - almost immediately 'engine' fault displayed on the dash with the windows only rising an inch of so at each press of the switch -- as if lost their 'set' position - getting each one up and then holding the switch to 'set' worked for a couple of starts then back to square 1 & occasionally the radio wouldn't play -- scan says an EGR fault,,,,, :(   SO disconnected the pager and lo and behold all OK - no faults logged, no repeats not as if I spliced into anything - simple direct connection -- so I'm glad I've not drilled the bumper   dealer accessory web site wants £265 fitted inc vat --- need to visit a dealer to see what they'd fit as the www.accessories.citroen.co.uk accessories video at the point of showing front fogs shows a sensor mounted next to the fog which looks suspiciously like an after market sensor........... anyone else successfully fitted them or got a better price out of a dealer?

If I have read your post correctly, you want to fit front parking sensors to a 2008 C4 and I assume it is the 2004 to 2008 model. Do you already have rear parking sensors since these were factory fitted to some of the C4 models ?

I have read elsewhere somebody had fitted the original Citroen front and rear parking sensors (from another C4) along with the bumper bits at the front to take the sensors, the wiring looms and was able to modify the software so it worked as if factory fitted. However, the amount of work to do this I am not sure it is worth it. You can see all the parts needed and the front bumper bits on the service.citroen website (register as another professional, member of the Citroen Owners Club if you have not already done so). It looks as if the 2008 on model of C4 already has the locations on the front bumper for the sensors.

We recently got a 2010 C3 with front and rear sensors fitted as part of the purchase from a Citroen dealer. Whilst Citroen parts, they seem just like aftermarket kits with buzzers located at the front and rear (no visual indication) and a dash mounted cheap switch to allow the fronts to be switched off. I have still to trace the wiring but it must be ignition controlled with own fuses and could even be a smart type of relay as used in towbar wiring - if not this would be an option to make any wiring easy from the battery. If I had a few days before the car was needed, I would have fitted a low price kit myself although the warranty would have to have been considered.

The car is a 2012, the ref to other years was what I've done previously... thanks for the tip re service.citroen  great site I'd not found before - so basically it's a Meta aka 'every man and his dogs' accessory supplier kit with bespoke plugs - 'proper' install process is labour intensive, the elecs are plug and play as it were - so I'll get a move on and price up  :)

had a good look at the Citroen site again and from picture 16 it appears there is a simple crimped connection into the BSI - WOW! not convinced YET - speaking to a CANBUS converter supplier at the moment to see what they reckon,,,, charge by CUK dealer will be mainly labour to do it 'their' way update as and when I have spoken to the canbus people and local dealer
