dacaB Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Good morning Citroen owners....My name is David Brindal and I am a Citroen owner.....it is CXP 1.6 16v Desire on a 55 plate and 49000 and change miles, it is my first ever Citroen and I am, at the moment, wondering why I have never had one before. I had a few issues, what 8 year car doesn't have issues, I fitted a new spare tyre, how that passed the last mot I know not, a new centre exhaust section, new rear exhaust mounting bracket and new number plates, I have topped up most of the fluids and thrown mats and some of those smelly gadgies at it, pina colada fragrance is novel. I have ordered a spare key from an independent Citroen wizard who has a small workshop just around the corner from my house, that was lucky ay. I have had a hard time getting registered on the site. Chrome seemed to block the confirmation emails, odd. I had to initiate my account with IE and switch back to Chrome half way thru. No problem, here now. I am about to fit a set of parking sensors, there is a thread with photos I must search out and study. All the best.......... Quote
dacaB Posted October 13, 2013 Author Posted October 13, 2013 Replying to my own thread seems to be the only way (possibly) to get the attention of an admin person. i find that I am still unable to get to the Picasso forums. I have tried just about every thing I can think of to validate my registration or to contact admin. I have tried to register as dacaB and dacaBpic with different email addys. Admin please fix ..............thank you. Quote
paul.h Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Welcome to the forum.Like other forums, we have a problem in being constantly attacked by spammers and at one point in this year were getting a few thousand spam posts a day which effectively stopped the forum working. As a result, a lot of measures are in place to stop spam accounts as they are being registered so now only a few are getting through. Similarly, peoples own internet systems sometimes stop the registration process for this site. On the Picasso forum, validation I believe is by replying to the email in the New member introductions section so I would have a look at this. If that fails, you could try a direct message to our Admin if one to the Picasso forum Admin does not work. Quote
dacaB Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 No it's not like that..........I get screens saying that a validation email has been sent with further instructions.........I am not receiving those emails........I go to the site and my screen name appears at the top as tho I am signed in but there is no forum.........whatever I do then I get a screen saying You dont have permission etc etc etc..........If I sign out the forum appears so it can be read but I can't post or contact anybody...........I am at the point of giving it a miss......please contact picasso admin so they can validate my registration directly..........please validate the screen name dacaBpic Thank you in expectation............ paul.h Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 The following is a comment from this forum on validation which I do not know if it is relevant to your case. As for the validations, they are automatic and should go through to email, Hotmail seems to be the main problem area as it keeps adding the site to their spam filters as we have many registrations using Hotmail it sees it as spam. dacaB Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 I don't use hotmail and I have checked the spam folders numerous times..................It seems to me that a simple email to the picasso admin would sort my problem easily however I am unable to send that email because I have no email addy to send to. paul.h Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 You could try a message through this site to our Admin, Gteuk. Go to the bottom of the home page, The Moderating Team, and from here you can send a message to Gteuk who is also an Admin on the Picasso forum. Quote
