Hi,

I have a 2002 2.0 Hdi Picasso which I have owned since new. Recently, the electrics have started failing one after the other. First was the AC, then the blower on the heater and now its the pump for the front and rear washers. All in the space of 1 month.

Its not the fuses as I have checked these.

Does anyone have any ideas. Are these components related somehow?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

It may be a coincidence the failure timing but the air con will not work if the cabin blower does not run.

The cabin blower if it runs on just one speed could be the speed control resistor pack needs replacing.

When the blower was working and the air con stopped working, could you hear the compressor clutch pulling in and before this did the air con cool down to a low temperature - if not it may just need regassing.

The washer pump may need replacing but to check it you would need to access it and try a separate 12 volt supply to see it it runs and to confirm the fault was not elsewhere.

I had the blower problem, replaced the resistor pack (well had it repaired) but now the fan doesnt stop completely when the control is zero'd.

Is this correct and I simply have not heard it because of the trim covering it, or do I have a fault in the dash control pack - your input would be valued.

I am not sure about this, but looking at our C3 and the Haynes manual, the blower switch is manual and has an off position 0 at which the blower does not run, and 4 speeds 1, 2, 3, 4. The wiring diagram shows the resistor pack to have 4 resistors, presumably these give the 4 speeds. So a guess is the switch may provide the off position and not the resistor pack.
