When accelerating gently, for instance in slow moving traffic(revs quite low) the car starts kangarooing/stuttering, but this doesn't happen when driving normally up through the gears. I am afraid this is going to get worse  leaving me stranded.Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks Whatsup.

Welcome to the forum.

what engine is it ?

If stationary and in neutral, does it idle ok and can you gradually increase the engine revs on the accelerator pedal ?

Is the servicing up to date ?

If a petrol engine it may need the throttle body/plate cleaning.

Have you recently filled up with fuel ?

Does it do it with a cold  and hot engine ?

Hello .The engine is 2Ltr.Hdi (diesel) .It ticks over fine, but on depressing the accelerator at about 1/4 throttle it starts stuttering, then with further pressure on the pedal it seems to go back to  normal.Driving up through the gears appears ok.  Service just carried out.  Also just re-fueled, but this was happening before that. Happens hot and cold. whatsup :(

This could possibly be an accelerator pedal problem, some have an electrical pedal, others a cable pedal with the electrical bits at the end of the cable - the electrical parts may wear over time. Options to check include a dealer diagnostic check or replacing it and seeing if it improves - but if it is not at fault then the dealer check may still be needed.

You could try a search on our Citroen Picasso forum to see if something similar has been reported - there is a link to it on the home page.

paul.h--thanks.Had an idea it may be that. As a matter of interest, Citroen main dealer quotes £280.00 plus VAT@20% (£336.00) This doesn't include fitting!! whatsup

If you are convinced it is the accelerator, you could try used parts and fit them yourself, the Haynes manual should cover it. To get the right part number using your VIN, ask a dealer parts dept or register on the service.citroen site as another professional and member of the Citroen Owners Club. The parts diagrams are a free service.

Welcome to the forum.

Did replacing the crank sensor fix your problem, its failure symptoms include cutting out when warmed up but then starting again only when the engine has cooled ? Crank sensor failure does not always give an engine management fault light and code.
