nig1975 Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Hi all its good to be here. I have a small problem, I want to remove my egr valve to give it a good clean as im getting a little hesitation when accelerating from low rpm. I've tried spraying several cans of cleaner directly into the egr valve seems ok for a few days then the symptoms re appear. So I want to take it completely off for a thorough cleaning. Has anyone got a step by step guide on how to remove this bloody thing iv previously removed all the bolts and fixing that I believed were holding it on but it will not move at all, I don't want to force it am I missing something here? Its really pissing me off now this should be a straight forward job im not a bad diy mechanic and I've done a few egr valves before with no trouble but this has got me stumped any help please guys would be very grateful. many thanks nigel Quote
paul.h Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Welcome to the forum. According to the Citroen procedures, once all the relevant pipes in the way have been removed then - Disconnect the electrical connector.Unscrew the screw under the valve several turns.Remove :The 2 bolts at the topThe 2 bolts to the connecting pipeRemove the EGR electrovalveThe sealThe bolts are tightened to 10 Nm. I have not done this so do not know how good the procedure is and it does not mention if it sticks in place. Quote
qman3428 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Symtoms would suggest you need to change the fuel filter rather than the EGR, at least that was the cause on mine. Quote
