glenbob Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Hi everyone. Just bought a p reg 05 citroen picasso 2.0 hdi exclusive. So far I love it but ive only had it 2 days so fingers crossed thier a good car!! Quote
paul.h Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Welcome to the forum. We had a 2.0 hdi (90hp) Picasso a few years ago and it was a good car - great for transporting teenagers about and also moving things with the rear seats out. They can be prone to water ingress so check the rear floor cupboards - the rain can get down the inside of the rear door membranes, run over the floor and into the cupboards. Ours also gained a leak into the right footwells under the carpet but I did not manage to sort this. Sometimes the remote did not lock/unlock the doors but this also happened to our C3 so may have been radio interference. There were no other problems over 3½ years and about 40k miles. There is a sister forum for the Picasso with a link to it from the home page - this will be worth a look and joining. Quote
glenbob Posted December 13, 2013 Author Posted December 13, 2013 Thanks for the reply. Didnt know they had rear floor cuboards looks screwed down at first glance but ive only had it five days so ill take a look. I take it there in the boot underneath the lining. The car seems solid so far but it has done 100, 000. I picked it due to it having had a brand new clutch cambelt service back box and a few other bits too! Will check for That leaking in the morning! Does anone rate citroen dealers for servicing? Quote
glenbob Posted December 13, 2013 Author Posted December 13, 2013 I just realised by cuboards do you mean those on the side of the boot? Quote
paul.h Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 The ones I was thinking of are in the rear footwells, possibly covered by mats if you have them. Also check the spare wheel has a locking device which goes through the middle of the wheel into the boot floor - without one the wheel cradle can be cut and the wheel easily stolen. Our local Citroen dealer is good but on older cars without a warranty I would tend to do things myself. There is a Haynes manual for the Picasso which is worth buying. Quote
glenbob Posted December 15, 2013 Author Posted December 15, 2013 Thanks for getting back again. Ive check the passenger rear footwells and all looks good. Going to buy a Haynes im ok on a few bits like basic servicing. Looks like the oil filters a bit awkward but hopefully the haynes will shed some light! Was thinking of getting some underseal for the car too to stop any rust as its pretty good under there for its age so want to keep it that way!! Quote
