gehngus Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Hi All. My aux belt is moving about and it seems the tensioner has had it. thus new belt kit required. I think i have found the correct part but have been asked do i have a Delphi Compressor or a Sanden? The car is a 2003 Citroen c5 sx hdi1997ccrc code DCRHZBVIN VF7DCRHZB76309617 i gave the above information but got the same question. could anybody enlighten me as to which i have or give the correct part number. Many thanks Quote
paul.h Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Using the parts diagrams and the vin, you could have either compressor. The belts are different lengths - Sanden uses LE1744 (part no. 5750 VX) and Delphi LE1750 (part no. 5750 YG) but the tensioner is the same (part no. 5751 55). If you can see the existing belt and its markings then that may help. There is a second pulley that may need checking/replacing - part no. 5751 29. One option may be to get both belts on the condition the one not used can be returned. Quote
gehngus Posted January 17, 2014 Author Posted January 17, 2014 (edited) Hi again.i managed to hand my mobile inside the engine with a torch. the label says sanden, I was going to get a belt kit. i assume this would do it. thanks again Edited January 17, 2014 by gehngus Quote
gehngus Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 Thanks paul. those numbers really helped. It seems the suppliers cant work out what i want and have only quoted for a belt in the end. I have done some seriouse digging about and cross referenceing and i think this list is correct: belt : 6PK1735 or 5750VXTensioner (DriveAlign) : 575155 or T38392idler pulley : 575129 or T38231ContinentalDirect Torsional Vibration Damper TVD1006 (posibly CVD1095 or 0515SA both of which are condiderable cheaper than Gates). Not much point ordering until Monday so i will just keep cross referencing to make sure. Quote
paul.h Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Is the vibration damper the crankshaft pulley ? If so you may be able to see if the rubber in it is perished and if it needs replacing. If you register for the Citroen parts diagrams (see your other post on aux belt noise), on the parts diargrams the aux belt and pulleys are under Electric Unit / Engine Electricity / Current Generation. gehngus Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 many thanks again paul. i will take a look. Quote
gehngus Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 sorry to be a pain, but where do i find the engine type? Ive decided to get the crankshaft pulley just in case. The belt and tensioner were changed last april (8000 miles ago) and both have to be done again as the belt jumps about and the tensioner doesnt look like its holding.if im cahanging them again so soon i might aswell do this one too. i need to know if i have a DW10ATED or a DW10AT. i have been given two part numbers : LPD0002 & TVD1006 both are different i think? thanks again Quote
paul.h Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 The engine type is part of the vin on Citroens. RHZ is a DW10ATED from the Haynes manual but will likely be in the handbook under a section on engines. If it had RHY it would be a DW10TD. The RHY engine is 90 bhp and the RHZ is 110 bhp. Quote
gehngus Posted January 25, 2014 Author Posted January 25, 2014 Ok.I now have all the bits. crank shaft pulley, tensioner, belt, the other wheel (what ever that is) a new alternator pulley, the pulley puller tool and Haynes manual which seems to suggest i can go through the wheel arch. All i need now is a slighlty dryer day. any tips n tricks i should know before i start? will keep you posted Quote
gehngus Posted January 31, 2014 Author Posted January 31, 2014 By jolly, Ive done it! I changed all tensioners and belt and gave it a try. It was just the same. Took the alternator off and changed the pulley (which fit fine, but was a different size?) I didnt Change crank shaft as the one on looked as good as the new one. Also. the tensioner that i though was wrecked seems to be fine and so does the belt. It was indeed the alternator pulley causing the problem. the old one is seezed solid wheras the new one works like the rear cog on a Bike and spins one way only. The noise has gone and no more skipping tensioner or squeel.. Great!. Now to start another about the next niggle :S Many thanks for all the help with this Paul. I owe you a pint next time you Visit N. Wales Quote
